What Is Your Favorite Mòkpè Dish?

The Mokpè woman is not only celebrated for her beauty and intelligence. But, like every other African woman, she's also celebrated for her ability to prepare special and very delicious meals for her family and guests.In which, she not only portrays herself as a good cook but a lover of good food and healthy development.

It's in this light that, "BakweriCuties" has come up with "MÒKPÈ DELICACIES"a 2 minutes clip every Saturday. To celebrate the cusine of the Mòkpè woman with a tip of most of her unique dishes.

With not just the "Ekwacoco nè Ngonya Morzaka" (Kwacoco and Mbanga soup), Liwelė, Ekambe, Ngonya Weèmbe etc. But, the special traditional spicies like Jowe, Erzeke-rzeke, Manjuweli etc, she adds to each meal to give her perculia signature.

The next morning all the forest animals were crying in Molalo Njoh's compound. He was dead.

So, they decided to go and inform his little nephew who was the only surviving member of his family.

On getting the sad news,he decided to carry along some Menyoli(bitting ants) with him.Because, he knew it was a trick" Molalo Njoh" was putting up to finally get him.

He ran swiftly and when he arrived,all the animals were crying and gathering to console him.

The little "Kaave"(antelope) then went closer to say some last words to his beloved "Molalo".

As he was speaking,he placed the Menyoli(bitting ants) on his Molalo's body. His uncle tried so hard to stay calm,but the pains from the bitting ants was unbearable.

He then woke up with a loud roar and all the forest animals and the little "Kaave" ran for their lives. That's why till date, the antelope(Kaave) and the tiger (Njoh) are not friends...

The following day, Molalo Njoh still sent for his little nephew.He had still set another trap for him. This time, he placed a large log of wood at the entrance so that once his nephew steps in, the log will fall on him and he will eat him.

Though the "Kaave"(antelope) wondered why his "Molalo Njoh" sent for him again.He ran as fast as he could thinking he had something very important to discuss with him.And never wanted to disappoint his beloved uncle by not showing up.

But,on getting to "Molalo Njoh's"compound ,the "little Kaave"swiftly skipped the trap that was set for him.He escaped again this time. "Molalo Njoh" was furious but wasn't ready to give up because he had another plan...

The next morning, Molalo Njoh had a plan to get his little nephew.He dug up a very deep hole in- front of his home,covered it with sticks and herbs then he sent for his little nephew to come and see him without delay.

Since, the little "Kaave" loved his "Molalo" so much, he ran as fast as he could.On arriving his uncle's home,he fell into the ditch.

But, since the little "Kaave" always had some palm kenel with him,he chewed some and placed in his armpit.And pretended to be dead. "Molalo Njoh" thought he had died and was already decaying.

So,he decided to put him out of the ditch.But,before he could come out to eat him,his little nephew had already escaped. "Molalo"was furious because, he had missed his nephew again that day...

Wondering around the forest one beautiful day, the little Kaave(antelope) thought of paying his beloved uncle a surprise visit.

"Molalo Njoh, Molalo Njoh"he called."It's me your little nephew.l was passing and decided to check on you".But, there was no response just snores.

"He must be sleeping" the little Kaave(antelope) thought.
"Let me check behind to see what he's hiding because he never allows me to go there."

And all he could see were carcasses of so many different animals "Molalo Njoh" had hunted and eaten the previous day. The little Kaave(antelope) now had enough reason to be scared of his "Molalo Njoh".

Though, he was still trying to convince himself that his "Molalo"(uncle) loved him, and will never want to harm him.But,he hurried home before his uncle could wake up...
