Oumarou Hamandjoda Appointed First General Manager of SOCADEL

In a significant development for Cameroon’s energy sector, Oumarou Hamandjoda, former Deputy General Manager of Eneo Cameroon, has been appointed as the first-ever General Manager of SOCADEL.

The decision was reached during a high-level board meeting held today and chaired by the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba. The meeting marks a pivotal moment in the operational launch and leadership structuring of SOCADEL, a company expected to play a key role in the country’s electricity development landscape.

Oumarou Hamandjoda brings years of experience from his tenure at Eneo, where he served as Deputy General Manager and was actively involved in strategic planning, infrastructure management, and energy distribution reforms. His appointment is widely seen as a strategic move aimed at ensuring strong leadership and continuity in the sector.
