I stated here once, that Oku was the highest crater Lake of the country. I did some findings and noticed I was wrong. 😊 Here are some interesting facts about Bambili Lakes.

1 - There are two Lakes at the Neshele Mount Summit. Bambili I or Bambili Northern Maar (BNM) is the smallest and is filled with appearant water. Bambili II or BSM is swampy and filled with grass but still water is pouring from it through BNM then flowing in a small river down to Bambili.

2 - The two Lakes are both the highest in the country. BSM the biggest is also the highest with 2621 meters high above sea level, BNM 2264 and Oku the third is 2227.

3 - There are evidence, the two Lakes where once the place of an intensive volcanic activity as part of the Cameroon Volcanic Line. From the kind of ashes and stones collected around the Maars science has asserted there are three kind of volcanic activity type Strombolian, effusive and phreatomagmatic.

The place is blessed as the entire NW is. For me it's the most beautiful Region of the country. The grassy landscapes and highlands are so relaxing, the winds, rains everything is set to have inner peace and resource yourself.
