At WETI, we may be known for movies, but our love for storytelling stretches across all of entertainment. That includes music, sports, and everything in between.
In that spirit, we're diving into the 2025 Wimbum Sports Tournament, an annual competition that brings together some of the most passionate teams from the Wimbum community. And guess what? Itโs already kicking off in Douala and weโre taking the lead on coverage.
While the Yaoundรฉ pool is set to launch later on June 29, Douala wasted no time and opened its tournament with two matches on June 8, 2025. Here's a quick look at what went down:
Match 1: Young Generation vs Njap FC
Njap FC came in strong, scoring two goals in the first half. Young Generation, despite being reduced to just 9 players in the second half, managed to pull one back. Their energy was unmatched, but time wasnโt on their side. Final score: 2โ1 for Njap FC.
Match 2: Love World FC vs Abakwa Boys
This one was all Love World. They led 5โ1 by halftime and kept their grip on the match right to the final whistle. Abakwa Boys had no answers for their fast pace and sharp attacks. Final score: Love World FC wins comfortably.
