🚨JUST FOR YOU| Based on the current WAFCON 2026 numbers and recent form, I would give Cameroon a slight edge, but this is a very difficult final to call.
🇨🇲 Cameroon vs 🇲🇼 Malawi — My prediction
Cameroon: 4 wins and 1 draw in their five matches so far, including a 1–0 victory over Nigeria and a goalless draw with Morocco before winning the semifinal on penalties.
Malawi: 4 wins and 1 defeat. They have been the tournament's biggest attacking surprise, scoring 12 goals in five games — 2.4 per match, the best scoring rate in the competition.
The biggest danger for Cameroon is obviously the Chawinga sisters. Tabitha scored twice against Algeria in the semifinal, while Temwa also scored as Malawi won 3–1.
But Cameroon have something Malawi haven't faced at this stage: big-match experience and defensive resilience. The Lionesses eliminated Nigeria 1–0 and then survived Morocco's pressure and a penalty to reach the final. Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was particularly decisive, saving three penalties in the shootout against Morocco.

I expect a very tight first half, with Malawi threatening through the Chawinga sisters' pace and Cameroon trying to control the game and exploit spaces.
If Cameroon can keep Tabitha and Temwa quiet, I think the Lionesses have enough quality to win their first WAFCON title.
But if Malawi score first, this could become a completely different game. Their confidence and attacking momentum are enormous.
