Ethical Leadership For National Transformation

Today, I join fellow advocates across the country to amplify a message that matters deeply to our future: Strengthening Ethical Leadership for National Transformation.

Over the past weeks, I had the privilege of completing the Ethical Leadership and Integrity Fellowship (ELIF) training an experience that reshaped my understanding of leadership at its core. I learned that ethical leadership is not about position or authority; it is about character. It is built on integrity, honesty, accountability, fairness, respect, and service to others.

The training deepened my appreciation for good governance, emphasizing transparency, citizen participation, responsible use of technology (including AI), conflict resolution, inclusive leadership, and peacebuilding. One of the most powerful lessons for me was this: lasting change begins with personal character. When leaders embody courage, compassion, active listening, and respect for diversity, communities become more just, peaceful, and inclusive.

How I Intend to Put This Into Practice

As an individual, I commit to:
Leading by example through integrity and accountability
Applying ethical decision-making in difficult situations
Speaking up against corruption, injustice, and unethical behavior
Practicing active listening and respectful dialogue
Continuously strengthening my leadership capacity

As part of an organization, (CAMYOSFOP) I aim to:

Promote transparency and ethical governance
Encourage inclusive participation and open communication
Strengthen policies that protect integrity and whistle-blowers
Use digital tools and AI responsibly and ethically
Collaborate with communities and institutions to advance peace and justice

My Recommendations for ELIF Moving Forward

I believe ELIF can deepen its impact by:

Providing mentorship, networking, and collaboration opportunities for alumni
Offering more practical workshops, case studies, and leadership coaching
Expanding training on ethical governance, advocacy, conflict transformation, and responsible AI
Supporting participants with small grants to implement community-based ethical leadership initiatives
Establishing a strong alumni platform for continuous learning and joint action

As we advocate today, I am reminded that ethical leadership is not an event it is a lifelong commitment. And it is one of the most powerful tools we have to transform our nation.

Advancing Cameroon’s National DDR Strategy

From 06–07 July 2026, Cameroon marked another important milestone in the implementation of the National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Strategy with the first of two workshops dedicated to developing the National Action Plan.

BESOHKA STUDIOS was privileged to accompany this initiative by providing:

Professional Photography — capturing the collaborative spirit and technical exchanges throughout the sessions.

Professional Videography — documenting key discussions and the collective commitment to advancing DDR.

Print Media Engagement — amplifying the workshop’s message nationwide through leading outlets including My Media Prime, Dash TV, Equinox TV, Le Jour, Le Messager, The Horizon, Newswatch, The Guardian Post, and The Post.

By showcasing the depth and impact of this initiative, BESOHKA STUDIOS reaffirmed its mission to help institutions communicate their work with clarity, professionalism, and resonance.

Special appreciation goes to BICC, the United Nations Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office (DDR branch), the African Union Commission, the Lake Chad Basin Commission, and the German Federal Foreign Office for their leadership and technical support. Gratitude is also extended to all participants and media partners whose collaboration ensured the success and visibility of this workshop.

At a time when communities are grieving and the call for stability is urgent, initiatives like these workshops are vital. The development of a National DDR Action Plan is not only a technical exercise, but also a commitment to peace, reintegration, and national healing.

Every effort, every partnership, and every shared commitment bring Cameroon closer to lasting peace and security.

Strengthening Peace & Security: A Look Back at the WAM–DDR Integrated Training in Yaoundé

From 29 June to 3 July 2026, Cameroon marked an important milestone in its ongoing commitment to peace and national security. The Integrated Training on Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM) in DDR Context and Countering Diversion, held at Suita Hotel in Yaoundé, brought together key national and international actors dedicated to building a safer future for our country.

This five‑day workshop convened officials from the National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Committee (NDDRC), law enforcement agencies, customs services, civil society organizations, and other strategic stakeholders. Their shared mission: strengthening technical capacity in the safe management of weapons and ammunition and preventing their diversion into illicit circulation.

The initiative was organized by CAMYOSFOP, in partnership with the Government of Cameroon (MINREX), BICC, the African Union, United Nations Peacebuilding and Peace Support, RECSA, and the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). The workshop concluded with a high‑level policy conference at IRIC, where partners reviewed progress and explored pathways for deeper collaboration.

To all participants, thank you for your collaboration, openness, and dedication throughout the workshop. Your engagement made this initiative meaningful and impactful.

To the media partners, your support in amplifying the workshop’s message across the national territory played a crucial role in ensuring Cameroonians everywhere understood the importance of this effort.

Cameroon is navigating a delicate moment in its history. Our communities are grieving, our institutions are working tirelessly, and our people continue to hope for lasting peace. Initiatives like this workshop are not just technical exercises, they are expressions of national resilience.

Strengthening weapons and ammunition management, improving DDR processes, and preventing diversion are essential steps toward restoring trust, stability, and safety. Peacebuilding cannot be undermined, especially now. Every effort count, and every collaboration brings us closer to the Cameroon we all envision.
