⚠️ Let me say something uncomfortable…

Some people in cybersecurity are very smart…
but nobody listens to them.

Not because they are not skilled.
But because they don’t know how to communicate.

You can find a serious vulnerability.
You can understand the risk.
You can know the solution.

But if you can’t explain it in simple words…
It dies there.

I’ve started realizing something in my journey:

Cybersecurity is not just about being technical.
It’s about making people understand what is at risk.

Your manager is not a hacker.
Your client is not a SOC analyst.
They just want clarity.

If your report is too complex, they ignore it.
If your explanation is confusing, they delay action.

And in security, delay is dangerous.
Technical skills make you sharp.

Communication skills make you influential.
The real professionals build both.

Don’t just learn how to break systems.

Learn how to explain risk.
That’s where the real power is.

Most people don’t fail in cybersecurity… they quit at the basics.

Today I spent 5+ hours on GitHub.

Not hacking.
Not scanning networks.
Not running fancy tools.

Just trying to:
Understand folders vs files
Fix broken links
Make text files look right
Link screenshots to documentation
Rebuild a clean repository from scratch
At one point, everything broke. 😅

Links failed.
Files disappeared.
I deleted it all… and started over.

Twice.

Here’s the truth most people won’t admit:
The hardest part of cybersecurity isn’t the tools.

It’s discipline.
It’s doing the boring basics properly.
It’s staying calm when nothing works.
Tonight I didn’t just fix a repository.
I built my foundation.

Today’s lesson from TryHackMe almost blew my mind!

I used to solve file permission issues in Linux like this:

chmod 777 ✅ “Problem solved!”
But then I realized… I wasn’t fixing anything. I was opening the doors wide for anyone to mess with my files 😅

Now I understand:
🔐 chmod 755 → Owner: full control, others: read & execute only

🚫 chmod 777 → Everyone can do everything → Not safe

Lesson? Cybersecurity isn’t about shortcuts.
It’s about understanding the rules and respecting the system.

Small details like this are what separate beginners from pros.

You don’t need to understand everything before you start learning cybersecurity.

When I started:
I tried commands I didn’t get
Broke things
Fixed them
Repeated the same labs again and again
And guess what? That’s how I actually learned.
Cybersecurity isn’t about reading every rule first.

It’s like cooking: you learn by trying, burning, tasting, adjusting, and trying again.

Start small.
Break something.
Fix it.
Repeat.
By the time you’ve done it 20–30 times, it all makes sense.

Not gonna lie…

Cybersecurity quietly changed my life.
Before:

Wake up → scroll social media → waste 3 hours 😴

Now:
Wake up → open laptop → study → practice → repeat 💻

No noise.
No motivation quotes.
No “grind” posts.

Just quiet consistency.

And it’s crazy how replacing 2–3 hours of scrolling with learning can completely change your future.

One year from now…
people will think it’s “luck.”

But it’s just discipline.
Future me will thank today’s effort.

Cybersecurity is NOT hard because it’s “too technical.”

It’s hard because…
most people quit too early.

Not because they’re not smart.

But because:
👉 Googling one error for 1 hour is annoying
👉 Reading boring docs is painful
👉 Practicing daily feels stressful
👉 Nothing works the first time
So they stop.

Meanwhile the people who win?
They’re not geniuses.

They’re just stubborn and consistent.

Tech doesn’t reward intelligence.

It rewards patience.

If you simply don’t quit…
you’re already ahead of 80% of people.
Simple.

But not easy 😄

Cybersecurity is NOT about hacking tools.

When I started learning, I thought it was all:

❌ fancy tools
❌ dark screens
❌ “elite hacker” stuff

But the more I study… the more I realize something shocking.

Most attacks happen because of SMALL mistakes.

Not advanced hacking.

Just: 👉 weak passwords
👉 no updates
👉 open ports
👉 firewall off
👉 nobody checking logs

That’s it.

No Hollywood hacking.

Attackers don’t break in…
They simply walk through doors we forgot to lock 🚪😅

That’s why now I focus less on tools
and more on mastering the basics.

Because in real life?
Basics save companies.

😂 Cybersecurity is humbling me every day…

Me:
“I’ll just learn hacking real quick.”

TryHackMe:
“First… learn Linux.”

Me: “Okay cool.”

TryHackMe:
“Now networking.”

Me: “Alright…”

TryHackMe:
“Now Windows internals, logs, registry, processes, SOC tools…”

Me:
“…bro I just wanted to hack like in the movies 😭”

Now I’m here memorizing: 💻 ports
💻 subnets
💻 commands
💻 logs
💻 troubleshooting errors for 2 hours because of one typo 😂

And guess what…
The best rooms are premium.

So I’m looking at the $126 certificate plan like:
Wallet: ❌ “calm down”

Brain: ✅ “INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE”

Me: 😭
For now, we grind the free labs and save up.

Because real cybersecurity isn’t magic…

It’s suffering… I mean learning 😅

🔥 I thought I “knew Windows”… until today 😅

We use Windows every single day.
Click apps.
Open folders.
Watch movies.
Easy, right?

Then TryHackMe said:

“Let’s see what you REALLY know.” 😂

Today (Windows Fundamentals 2) I learned:
👉 System Configuration
👉 UAC settings
👉 Resource Monitor
👉 Registry Editor
👉 How processes run behind the scenes
And it hit me…

The same Windows we trust daily…
is the same place attackers hide.
One weird process.
One wrong setting.
One small registry change.
That’s all it takes.

Cybersecurity isn’t movie-style hacking.
It’s spotting tiny details nobody notices.
Slowly building real skills. One lab at a time 💻
Be honest…
