Hi all, Scott here - I'm excited to announce that my Lightsource Asia Media Group colleagues and I have partnered with the Association of Film Commissioners International to curate and help plan the AFCI's Global Production & Finance Conference, running Thursday 6th and Friday 7th April at the Marriott Hotel Burbank. The Producers Guild of America is our event Industry Partner, and Screen International is our official Media Partner. If you are involved in film production or interested in learning more about international rebates and financing, this is a worthwhile event to attend, and we hope you can.
We have placed over 55 speakers from across the industry and the world, covering topics from financing to distribution, and there will be spotlights on Georgia, China, sustainability and island filming (focusing on the Dominican Republic, Hawaii and Canary Islands). You'll hear first hand from film commissioners from around the globe as they speak to their locations, infrastructure and incentive offerings. The Conference is sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, Entertainment Partners and the New Zealand Film Commission, each of whom will be represented on stage across the two days.
Tickets are available but going fast ($249 for the two information-packed days; Conference ticket holders have automatic access to AFCI Locations Show (which would otherwise cost $49). I hope to see you there!
