Do your kids want a cool summer getaway? Bring them to Hainan, China! Citizens from 85 countries can enter this island without a visa!

Hainan is not only a summer paradise but also the "Nanfan Silicon Valley" of China's efficient tropical agriculture. The Haikou Exposition Park of Tropical Agricultural Science and Technology is absolutely eye-opening: 8 exhibition areas showcase exotic flowers and plants, marine life, and beyond. Danzhou's Jiahe Shared Farm is like an animation painted by Hayao Miyazaki, where you enjoy clouds, flowers, orchards, and bed & breakfasts. Many customers book its annual fruits program and then have fresh fruits delivered to their doorsteps every month. Another hidden gem is Qixianling, Baoting: your whole family can bathe in rarely seen tropical rainforest hot springs, learn about the Li brocade weaving techniques (a world-class intangible cultural heritage), fish in the jungles, prepare agarwood into therapeutic products, and cut rubber!

Thursday, we are in Nanjing and filming in 40-degree heat. The name of the documentary is: Wings of Friendship|The Flying Tigers Legacy.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The Flying Tigers, officially known as the American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, was formed in 1941 by Chennault to help China fight invading Japanese forces. They fought side by side with Chinese soldiers and civilians, and gave Japanese invaders a heavy blow until the final victory of the war in 1945, making an important contribution to protecting world peace and justice.

Today, our filming crew visited ’s old residence in Nanjing. John Rabe, is a household name in China. Over 80 years ago, during the Nanjing Massacre, Rabe and several other foreigners established an international safety zone housing more than 20 shelters. His courtyard alone concealed and protected over 600 Chinese people. They saved 250,000 Chinese people in the safety zone. His story was and will be forever remembered by the Chinese people.
