【Reading China Tour Explores Hanzhong, Where Three Kingdoms History Lives On】
For anyone interested in the history of Three Kingdoms(220-280AD), Hanzhong is a familiar name. The city was once part of the territory ruled by the state of Shu and witnessed many important events during this period.
On September 10 in Hanzhong, the Reading China Tour visited the Hanzhong Museum which is built on the three Western Han historic sites – the Ancient Han Terrace, the Altar of General Worship, and the Horse-Drinking Pool. This national first-grade museum houses over 5,200 cultural relics (sets), among which the 13 Stone Inscriptions of Shimen are its most prized treasures.
American scholar Peter Brian Ditmanson, professor at the Department of History, Yuelu Academy, Hunan University showed great interest in the relics at the museum. He said the treasures offer a testament to the rich history of the region.
