🎧 Recently done mastering work on the debut release by New Password, titled 隐象 (Yǐn Xiàng) — out now on CD and vinyl via 浪袭厂牌 / Langxi Records (Catalog No. L-001)!
New Password is a boundary-pushing duo consisting of Luo Qiang and Li Yanzeng, who also composed and arranged all tracks on the album. The project showcases an intense, layered sonic palette — both intricate and emotionally resonant.

Back in 2020, we began working with American musician Eric Allen on his self-titled debut album. The result, Eric Allen Music, is a heartfelt slice of Americana—borne of memories, loss, and hope. With honest songwriting and rich, rootsy instrumentation, this LP captures the emotional depth and storytelling that define Eric’s sound.

We’ve been working on a super exciting project in the studio recently — Dai Guo Li, the avant-garde/experimental musician, had his piece 《独奏侠》 (Dúzòu Xiá) mastered here at Brevity of Motion Sounds. The mastering process covered both the digital release and a vinyl edition.

It’s always intriguing recording folk music. When tracking acoustic instruments, mic placement can yield a lot of different results with how timbre is captured. Was nice to work on some new music with blues artist Eric Allen Music again.
