Set during the 2003 Iraq War, it follows a debt-ridden Chinese chef who travels to Iraq to open a restaurantโonly to find himself caught in the chaos of war.
As bombs fall and the city descends into violence, his restaurant becomes an unlikely refuge for orphans.
Inspired by real Chinese restaurants that operated in wartime Iraq, the film uses food as a powerful metaphor for hope, dignity, survival and the universal desire for peace.
