Longevity Over Fast Profits
Bakit very important ang LONGEVITY ng isang trading account?
For me, before you trust a strategy or trader, **look for at least 1 year of real performance.**
Bakit?
Because longevity shows you two important things:
CONSISTENCY + RISK.
Hindi lang, *“Magkano ang kinita?”*
Dapat ang tanong din:
“Ano ang pinagdaanan ng account para kitain iyon?”
Kasi kapag nakita mo na ang performance niya through different market conditions, makikita mo:
* Gaano siya ka-consistent?
* Ano ang normal drawdown?
* Ano ang worst drawdown?
* Gaano katagal bago maka-recover?
* Kaya ba niyang protektahan ang capital?
* At most importantly, scalable ba?
Because eventually, kapag gusto mo nang magdagdag ng capital, may basis ka—not just hope.
---
Ito ang common problem sa newbies:
Gusto natin:
FAST PROFITS + HIGH RETURNS + LOW RISK. = WALANG GANITO!
But in trading, you have to understand:
Higher expected return usually means accepting higher risk.**
Kaya habang nagma-mature ka as a trader or investor, kailangan mag-mature din ang **expectations mo.**
Ask yourself:
“Ano ba talaga ang CONSISTENT para sa akin?”
May nakita kang account:
$50 capital → +100% in one month.
Wow! Impressive.
Pero bago ka ma-excite, ask:
“Can this be scaled?”
Imagine putting **₱1,000,000** into the exact same approach.
If you expect **100% every month**, you're basically expecting that ₱1M to generate around **₱12M in simple monthly profits over one year**,
assuming the same return every month.
Is that a realistic expectation at that scale and risk?
That's why percentage return alone doesn't tell the whole story.
---
Before you follow someone, look for 4 things:
**1. REAL PERFORMANCE
Hindi screenshot lang. Look at the actual track record.
2. REAL RESULTS
Not just the best month. Look at the good months **and bad months.**
3. REAL RISK
How much drawdown and capital exposure did they take to achieve those returns?
4. REAL VALUES
How does the person communicate when losing?
Transparent ba? Accountable ba? Consistent ba sa sinasabi niya?
Because you can fake an image for a short period.
But over time, **performance, risk management, and character become harder to fake.**
So kung ilang beses ka nang natalo, nasunugan, or palipat-lipat ng strategy…
Maybe the question isn't only:
Ano bang magandang strategy?”**
Maybe you also need to ask:
“Realistic ba ang expectations ko—and tama ba ang mga taong pinipili kong sundan?”**
Don't just look for fast profits.
Look for something that can survive long enough to compound.**
Because in trading:
SURVIVAL FIRST. SCALING SECOND. PROFITS FOLLOW.
