Verdant mountains rise in layers, while the Nanjiang River winds through the landscape. Amid the mountains of Yunan County in Yunfu, Modo Mountain stands quietly. This seemingly ordinary hill holds traces of the oldest known civilization in the Lingnan region.
Unlocking this long-buried chapter of history would not have been possible without the dedication, perseverance, and painstaking exploration of archaeologists.
The documentary Origins of Modo Mountain ( ({ŁАJШ» ) looks back on this archaeological journey across mountains and rivers through a gentle and thoughtful narrative. It allows audiences to discover not only the depth of civilization behind these ancient remains, but also the passion and dedication of the archaeologists who devoted themselves to uncovering the past.

On May 5, 2026, the new popular science book on nuclear and radiation safety, *Guangdong Eagle Team: Radiation as It Is*, was officially launched at the Children's Department of the Guangdong Provincial Sun Yat-sen Library. Compiled by the Guangdong Provincial Environmental Radiation Monitoring and Nuclear Emergency Response Technical Support Center and published by Guangdong People's Publishing House, this book is a new addition to the series following *Guangdong Eagle Team: Radiation Safety with You*.

The new book continues the comic book format, using ten scenario-based stories to extend from daily life to a broader picture of radiation science, covering multiple dimensions such as the universe, food, medicine, and the ocean. New sections such as "Knowledge Booster," "Knowledge Quiz," and "Relaxing Moment" enhance interactivity and fun. Academician Liu Weiping of the Chinese Academy of Sciences wrote the foreword, recommending the book and believing it will help young people understand radiation scientifically and eliminate one-sided fears.

At the launch event, the Guangdong Radiation Center donated copies of the book to the Guangdong Provincial Sun Yat-sen Library. Engineers shared their radiation knowledge and creative process, and interactive Q&A sessions, comic book displays, and instrument demonstrations were set up, allowing readers to monitor radiation data themselves. Going forward, the organizers will also collaborate with libraries and primary and secondary schools to conduct a series of science lectures and reading promotion activities.

10 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze – Double First, Historic Record!

During the May Day holiday, the Nansha District Youth Tennis Team (Guangzhou) achieved a historic breakthrough at the 2026 Guangzhou Youth Tennis Championships, winning 10 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals – ranking first in both gold and total medals.

In team events, Nansha won four out of six golds (Women’s Groups A, B, C; Men’s Group C) and a bronze in Men’s Group B. In individual events, they claimed six golds, three silvers, and two bronzes. Several players became “double champions” (team + individual). Total medals: 16, surpassing last year’s 6-5-4 record.
Nansha’s team score reached 285 points (up from 211), narrowing the gap with first place from 90 to 6 points.

The team’s success stems from high-level coaching (seven foreign + two Chinese coaches, with ATP/WTA experience), rigorous selection, specialized training, and comprehensive logistics (transport, meals, insurance). This historic result reflects Nansha’s high-quality youth sports development. The team now aims for higher-level competitions.
