I tried to visit as many cities as possible in 24 hours in China using high-speed trains, metros, taxis, and whatever else could get me there the fastest. China has some of the best transportation in the world, so I wanted to see how many cities I could actually reach in one day.

This 24-hour travel challenge took me across multiple Chinese cities with no plan, no bookings, and real consequences if I missed a train. From Guangzhou to Foshan, Zhaoqing, Nanning and beyond, I tested China’s high-speed rail system, public transportation, and last-minute tickets to see how far I could go.

Along the way I:
• took bullet trains across China
• explored cities I’ve never heard of
• climbed mountains with no time
• got lost in train stations
• raced the clock all day

This is a real-time travel challenge with no fake stops — in every city I had to actually do something: eat local food, drink coffee, explore, or find a main attraction.
