In Pu'er, Yunnan, a police dog has gained two unexpected new teammates—a robot dog and a humanoid robot. First, they sized each other up and curiously sniffed one another. Then, the three "beings" lined up and headed out into the streets to patrol together. One relies on its nose, two rely on chips. This is probably the most unusual patrol squad on the streets of Pu'er.

In the Nujiang Grand Canyon of southwestern China, halfway up a mountain, there is a village called Laomudeng. In the Nu ethnic language, it means "a place people love to visit."
After nightfall, villagers put down their farm work, pick up the dabiya and mouth harp, and sing Nu love songs. Tourists stand among the crowd, listening, taking photos, or joining the dance.
By day they farm and run guesthouses; by night they sing and dance. Culture is not an exhibit behind glass—it is part of their everyday life.

This National Day, Yunnan did something: it tore down the stage.
At Yunnan Ethnic Village in Kunming, song and dance are no longer locked on stage. Visitors walk into the villages, gather around a stove to brew tea, hum along to folk songs, and jump into the circle of ethnic dance. The audience isn't here to watch a performance—they're here to "live life."
In Nanqiang Street, the entire street is a theater. Traditional dances break out on the bluestone paths, and passersby join in as they walk by.
At Gudu Liyuan in Guandu Ancient Town, young people line up to put on opera makeup and costumes, standing on a century-old stage for photo shoots. Dian opera is no longer just for grandparents—it has become something you can "wear."

In Tengchong, Yunnan, shadow puppetry has been passed down for over a hundred years.
Liu Chaokan, the sixth-generation inheritor, grew up watching shadow puppetry. But he didn't let this craft remain stuck on the old stage—he built a shadow puppet museum and theater, and even created fluorescent shadow puppetry.
When the lights go out, the characters on the screen suddenly glow. Color, light and shadow, movement—all tell the story in a new way.
The old craft hasn't changed. What's changed is the way it glows.

【Lancang-Mekong Youth Voices】 We visited the home of the first demonstration farmer in the China-Cambodia Smart Fisheries Cooperation Pilot Project's rice-shrimp farming program in Takeo Province, Cambodia. The farmer expressed that the aeration equipment and water quality monitoring technology brought by the Chinese team have greatly improved the quality of shrimp fry. The rice-shrimp co-cultivation model fully utilizes land potential and helps farmers escape poverty. The project also provided farmers with drones for feeding shrimp. The farmer especially thanked the Chinese government for its support to Cambodian farmers.

This Runway Once Launched Airplanes; Now It Launches Life
In downtown Kunming, there is a runway that has been in use for 90 years. It was once the terminus of the "Hump Route," and the Flying Tigers took off from here. In 2012, the airport closed, and fourteen years later, it became a city park.
It's still the same runway—only the people on it have changed from pilots to jogging citizens. The park preserves the old control tower and the memory of the Flying Tigers. Beside it stands a new white circular building, inspired by the golden-winged bird, the treasure of the Yunnan Provincial Museum. There is also a new underwater library and a rainforest waterfall café.
The same runway—what took off before were airplanes; what takes off now is life.

Yuanjiang welcomes the traditional Hani grand gathering—the Chaisheza Harvest Festival.
Golden terraced fields transform into a fun competition ground, with the lively duck-catching segment full of highlights.
Tourists and Hani villagers gather in the rice fields, all focused and eyeing their targets, waiting for the right moment to make their move.
The ducks flap their wings with all their might, flying high over the rice waves, nimbly darting through the air above the terraces, drawing everyone's gaze in eager pursuit—the atmosphere is warm and joyful.
Beyond the fun duck-catching, there are also cultural performances, harvest competitions, terraced field sports meets, and other rich farming experience activities, blending mountain wilderness sports, farming fun, and harvest joy. On October 5, dozens of black-headed gulls were the first to arrive at Haihong Wetland; by October 7, the flock had grown to over 100. Their white, agile figures frequently skim over the skies above Dianchi Lake. They sometimes fly low over the water, sometimes circle and soar, playing and foraging with citizens and tourists. Many of the early arrivals this year are subadults, coming ahead to scout the route for the main migration. It is expected that around November, the large flock will arrive in full, gradually spreading to gull-watching spots such as Haigeng Dam, Cuihu Lake, and Panlong River. The winter romance of the Spring City is quietly beginning.
