Why do an increasing number of overseas customers perceive "Made in China" as synonymous with low quality?
In recent years, an increasing number of overseas customers have come to equate "Made in China" with low quality, for reasons on both sides.
Reasons on China's side:
Some manufacturers cut costs and simplify processes, sometimes even cutting corners, just to win orders, leading to inconsistent quality;
Fierce low-price competition within the industry lets bad products crowd out good ones, dragging down overall reputation.
Reasons on the overseas buyer's side:
Buyers focus solely on getting the lowest quote, negotiating hard and shopping around;
After choosing the cheapest supplier, they still expect to receive premium-quality products.
The truth is, everyone knows exactly what quality a given price should buy. When every customer is pushing for the lowest price, no businessperson is willing to lose money just to hand you a product priced above its cost.
