Annual Review: Hemiola “Qingyin Award ”National Music Showcase & Award Ceremony 2024

The Hemiola “Qingyin Award” National Music Showcase and Award Ceremony, part of the Hemiola Cultural Media series of events, successfully concluded on July 22, 2024, at the Grand Theater of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.

The evening featured a star-studded lineup of guest performers, including Lin Zhe, internationally renowned percussionist and head of the Honor of Kings Guoyue Orchestra; Duan Jun, a social media influencer with over ten million followers; Liang D**g, CEO of Hemiola Cultural Media; as well as Guoyin Xie Boka and Wang Shuyi, both rising stars with a fan base exceeding one million, with Wang Shuyi being Hemiola’s spotlighted young artist of the year.

As one of Hemiola Cultural Media’s major cultural and artistic initiatives, this event made significant contributions to the establishment of the “Qingyin Award” brand, as well as to cultural exchange and the promotion of music education.

2024 Hemiola Event Review

Hemiola Artist Marathon Concert 2024: A Resounding Success

In 2024, Hemiola proudly hosted the Hemiola Artist Marathon Concert, an extraordinary event that brought together 20 highly promising young musicians currently studying at some of the world’s leading conservatories. Over the course of 12 continuous hours, these artists showcased a wide range of repertoire—from classical masterpieces to contemporary and cross-genre works—demonstrating not only their exceptional talent but also their boundless artistic potential.

To share this musical feast with audiences worldwide, the entire marathon was live-streamed across three major platforms, reaching an impressive 100,000 views. The enthusiastic responses from both online and offline audiences reaffirmed Hemiola’s mission of promoting cultural exchange, spreading outstanding music, and providing invaluable opportunities for young artists.

Hemiola Qingyin Award Music Competition Successfully Held at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music
From August 1 to 3, 2025, the Hemiola Qingyin Award Music Competition was grandly hosted at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. This year’s competition featured six major categories—strings, piano, winds, voice, percussion, and Chinese traditional instruments—offering a comprehensive platform that highlighted both professional excellence and an international vision.
The event invited distinguished professors and celebrated performers from China, Europe, and the United States to serve as judges. Their outstanding expertise and rigorous evaluations set a high standard for the competition and received wide acclaim from participants and audiences alike.
As part of the Hemiola Music Festival, the competition was accompanied by international masterclasses, concerts, and various festival activities, creating a vibrant academic and artistic atmosphere. More than 1,500 participants were drawn to this grand celebration, where young musicians demonstrated extraordinary talent and passion, earning enthusiastic applause and recognition.

Hemiola International Percussion Masterclass Concludes Successfully in Hangzhou
From July 28 to 30, 2025, the Hemiola International Music Masterclass was successfully held at the scenic Kaichen Meilu in Hangzhou. Over the course of three days, outstanding young percussionists from across the country gathered to immerse themselves in a world-class artistic and educational experience.
The masterclass featured two distinguished percussion masters—Professors Gert François and Bart Quartier from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (KCB)—who led an intensive and systematic program on the development and performance practice of modern percussion. The curriculum was both rigorous and inspiring, covering marimba, snare drum, timpani, and beyond, with a focus on performance techniques, musical interpretation, score analysis, and stage presentation. Through their profound expertise, rich teaching experience, and passionate approach, the two professors broadened the artistic horizons of all participating students.
On July 30, the event reached its climax with a student concert followed by the professors’ recital. The young musicians, filled with passion and confidence, took to the stage to showcase the achievements of their three days of study—demonstrating remarkable growth and artistry across a wide spectrum of percussion works, and earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. That evening, Bart Quartier and Gert François presented a breathtaking recital of solos and ensembles, offering a true feast of percussion brilliance and embodying the charisma of world-class performers.
