Thomas So Shiu-tsung : National Security Law shields threats, fosters development

Jun 30 marks the 5th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong.

National security underpins Hong Kong’s stability; financial security is its vital component. Thomas So Shiu-tsung, Chairman of the Financial Dispute Resolution Center (FDRC) and former president of the Law Society of Hong Kong, told Beijing Review that the security law in Hong Kong provided “a critical shield against threats and fostered development, enabling our financial industry to advance steadily amid global complexities.”

“The FDRC strengthens financial security through efficient dispute resolution. Upholding fairness and transparency, we build trust and ensure stability—fundamental to societal resilience,” he added.
