For this 86th release, Culture Club Records return to Mexico with DJ Saeg, who, after his EP “Floating In Skanks” released a year ago on the Culture Dub Records label, now delivers the album “Burning Steppas”—a transcendent blend of Electro Deep Dub, featuring hypnotic Stepper textures and deep basslines, always inspired by Jamaican music. The 12-track album merges Anahuac and Caribbean cultures, and includes collaborations with Omar Perry, Longfingah, Fractal Seed, Tavo Bejarano, Tino Valentin, Cristrombon, and JuanPi Mtz—available for Free Download, of course!
Since 2011, DJ Saeg has been the official DJ for the Mexican singer Lengualerta, spreading powerful and conscious Reggae Dub worldwide. Originally from Mexico City, he has been shaping his musical vibe since 1999. He started as a selector, scratcher, performing in clubs in Mexico, Europe, and various countries worldwide.
His collaboration with Lengualerta led him to discover the Sound System culture, drawing from Jamaican influences to create groovy tracks that combine cultural samples with deep bass and melodic or cutting sk**ks, captivating Mexican audiences and igniting dancefloors in the land of sombreros and tequila.
With “Burning Steppas,” DJ Saeg presents the result of his live and studio experiments : 12 tracks drawing from a wide range of influences, including Reggae, Jazz, Techno, and Dub, all centered around the rhythmic Skank. To deliver his universal message, the Mexican producer has teamed up with Jamaican singer Omar Perry, son of the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry, the versatile German singjay Longfingah, saxophonists Tavo Bejarano and Tino Valentin, trombonist Cristrombon, keyboardist JuanPi Mtz, and trumpeter Fractal Seed inviting us into a soundscape that is both dynamic, mystical, and profoundly captivating!
