A core of low-pressure systems is generating showers and thunderstorms near the mountains of the Northern Zone and the North Caribbean. Scattered showers are also being reported in the South Caribbean and the Central Valley. These are expected to decrease as night progresses.

11.06.26 3.10 pm At this time, the main cloud cover is concentrated over the mountainous regions of the country, favoring thunderstorms and isolated showers in parts of the Central Valley, the Northern Zone, the North Pacific, and the Southern Caribbean. In the plains of the Northern Zone, the Caribbean, and Guanacaste, conditions are mostly clear to partly cloudy.

9:08 am June 10, 2026 Today, Wednesday, Tropical Storm Cristina is expected to move slowly along the coasts of Nicaragua and El Salvador, gradually weakening. In Costa Rica, weather conditions are expected to be close to normal seasonal patterns. Partly cloudy skies are expected across the rest of the country. Scattered showers are forecast for the Central Valley and Pacific region this afternoon. Meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Caribbean and Northern Zone during this period.

Durante hoy miércoles, se espera que la tormenta tropical CRISTINA se desplace lentamente a lo largo de las costas de Nicaragua y El Salvador, debilitándose gradualmente. En Costa Rica, se prevé que las condiciones meteorológicas se acerquen a los patrones estacionales habituales. En el resto del territorio nacional, se esperan cielos parcialmente nublados. Por la tarde, se pronostican chubascos dispersos en el Valle Central y la región del Pacífico. Mientras tanto, en el Caribe y la Zona Norte, se esperan chubascos y tormentas eléctricas durante este período.

10:45 am June 9, 2026 Tropical Storm Cristina is contributing to a layer of cloud cover over most of the country. Rain is also being observed in several areas along the Pacific coast. According to IMN-09-06-2026, the tropical storm remains stationary in the Pacific Ocean parallel to the coast of Nicaragua and El Salvador today, Tuesday. It will continue to be stationary or move very slowly toward San Salvador. Rainy conditions, with low temperatures and coastal winds over Costa Rica are expected to persist throughout the day, beginning to decrease throughout Wednesday as the disturbance moves forward. Intermittent rain will continue in the Pacific and Central Valley regions, where cloudy conditions with rain are expected. Showers with thunderstorms are forecast for the Caribbean and Northern Zone in the afternoon.
