I Am Grateful
I am grateful for today—for the simple gift of opening my eyes and seeing the beauty around me.
I am grateful that I can stand on my two feet, use my two hands, and send my son to school safely and without harm.
I am grateful that I was able to discipline my son for his mistake, and that he did not hate me for it. Instead, we shared the moment with joy in our hearts, and later he came to me with a sincere apology.
I am grateful because today, my son declared on his own that he wanted to be baptized in water. It was his decision, not mine, and my heart rejoiced at his choice.
I am grateful that as a family, we shared meals together at our dining table, talked freely about anything, and enjoyed chocolates for dessert. My heart is full of joy from such simple moments.
I am grateful that we remembered to give our employee her wage today, something my wife had forgotten earlier. She was too shy to mention it, yet her son could not go to school because of it. I am thankful we were able to make it right.
Most of all, I am grateful that even today, the favor of the Lord is upon us—that He sustains us, guides us, and allows us to continue into tomorrow.
