The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza after months of unimaginable suffering and devastation. For over two years, children and families have endured relentless bombardment, starvation, and the collapse of essential health and humanitarian systems.
As one of the leading humanitarian medical NGOs operating in Gaza for over three decades, PCRF has witnessed firsthand the catastrophic toll of this conflict on children’s health and well-being. Thousands have been orphaned, maimed, or left with lifelong trauma. Entire hospitals and health centers have been destroyed, leaving an entire population of children without access to even the most basic medical care.
For more than thirty years, PCRF has been on the ground providing medical care, relief, and hope to Gaza’s children — and we will continue to do so in the days ahead. Our focus now turns to restoring pediatric healthcare, treating severe malnutrition, expanding rehabilitation and psychosocial programs, and rebuilding the systems that safeguard children’s health and dignity.
What follows must be a sustained commitment to help Gaza’s children grow, heal, and rebuild their futures and lives.
PCRF urges all parties to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect every child’s right to safety, care, and dignity.
