The word “nekki” stands for “enthusiasm” in Japanese. Solely based on the enthusiasm of its founders, Nekki grew out of a hobby project to a world-renowned games brand with currently over 100 employees. By 2010, the company shifted its focus to mobile gaming and subsequently became internationally known for its three popular game brands - Shadow Fight, Vector and 11x11.

First in our history — one festival for all Nekki games

In 20+ years, we’ve built multiple titles, each with its own world, gameplay, and community. This August, for the first time, we’re uniting them in a single event.

Over the past two months, our teams have developed in-game events, contests, new content, and community challenges, combining them into one experience: Nekki Summer Fest 2025 — bringing together all our live games: Shadow Fight 4: Arena, Shadow Fight 2 & Shades, Shadow Fight 3, Ninja Party, Vector The Game, and Fight Me. A rare chance to connect our worlds and bring communities closer.

New Nekki game — 100K+ installs in the first weekend

Late last week, we launched our new game Ninja Party in open beta. It’s a cross-platform party-fighting game with 12-player PvP, co-op modes, parkour mechanics, and an absurd variety of weapons. Designed for fast, chaotic matches and real fun — whether you play solo or with friends.

In just one weekend, Ninja Party was downloaded 100,391 times — and the numbers are still going up.

That’s just Google Play and Steam. The iOS and Switch releases that are coming soon, should take things even further.

Right now, our focus is on working closely with the players — collecting feedback, polishing the game, and adding new content together: modes, weapons, skins, and more.

Just released: Shadow Fight — now in book form

For the past two years, we’ve been working on the first official novel. We had already launched a comic series in the CIS region — but our community kept asking for more. More stories. More lore. More insight into the world beyond the fights.

So we teamed up with a local publisher. Our narrative designers and devs worked closely with their writer to bring this book to life. Because Shadow Fight has always been more than just a fighting game. It’s a universe with deep characters, long arcs, and a story that’s grown over a decade.

This novel is our way of giving fans what they’ve been asking for — and of exploring what drives the heroes they’ve spent years playing.

The book launched this summer in the CIS region. And we’re not stopping here.

Nekki at Summer Game Fest — the hand-painted gamepad tradition

Presenting SPINE at major industry events isn’t just about showing the game — it’s about standing out and making the experience memorable. One way we do that: we bring hand-painted gamepads.

It started at Gamescom 2024. This summer, we brought the tradition to LA — five one-of-a-kind controllers, each painted by hand, became part of our Summer Game Fest booth. Over 120 guests tried the SPINE demo using them, including Geoff Keighley, Mark Cerny, and teams from PC Gamer, Daily Mail Gaming, Epic Games, and more.

When you’re building a cinematic action game, every detail counts. Even the ones in your hands.

Marcus stands guard at the Nekki office

We rarely show the spaces where our games are made — but this one felt worth sharing.

Marcus has long stood at the heart of the Shadow Fight universe. A fighter, a mentor, a symbol of the Legion. And he also stands here — in full armor, two meters tall — in one of our offices.

It’s not just decor. For us, this figure reflects how seriously we take character, storytelling, and worldbuilding — the same care we put into every animation, feature, and release.

And let’s be honest: walking past Marcus every morning makes the coffee hit harder.

New character release in Shadow Fight 4: Arena — Raikichi

We’re continuing to expand the Shadow Fight universe — not just to keep the game fresh, but to deepen its world and build long-term player engagement. For us, adding a new hero is never just about a new moveset. It’s about identity, narrative weight, and gameplay that leaves a mark.

A week ago, we introduced Raikichi, an epic fighter from the Heralds faction. Once a champion of the brutal underground running leagues, his story takes a sharp turn as he enters the Arena. Fast, heavy-hitting, and unpredictable — he’s already found his place in the meta.

Early results are strong: high pick rate, great feedback from the community, and a lot of excitement around his debut.

Ninja Party’s Pre-Registration Challenge: 55,000+ players and counting

To support the summer launch of our multiplayer action game Ninja Party, we set out to do more than just collect wishlists — we wanted to activate our player base across Shadow Fight, Vector, and SPINE.

So we launched the Pre-Reg Challenge — a campaign that rewards the community with exclusive skins of iconic characters from the Nekki universe as collective milestones are reached.

The result so far: 55,678 pre-registrations across Steam, Google Play, and the App Store — and the number keeps growing.

Nekki at Wanda Cinema Games

Apart from LA, we made a stop in Shanghai last week — was invited to the Wanda Cinema Games (万达电影游戏) press conference. Not every day you share a guest list with 陈祉希 (Wanda Film), 杨海 (Wanda Pictures), and nearly 1,000 media reps.

Wanda remains our publishing partner for Shadow Fight in China — SF3 is already live, and SF4 is up next.
