I’ve never been this nervous before a cleanup 🥴

So many things could have gone wrong, and I genuinely had no idea what to expect.

But looking back, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Days like this remind me that all the stress, planning and sleepless nights are worth it.

A massive thank you to BELLE AIR LUXURY VILLAS CYPRUS for making this event possible and to everyone who came and made it such an unforgettable day 🙏

Do CleanUp’s actually change anything?

Fair question. Because yes, this beach can get dirty again.

But that’s not the whole point.♥️

30+ people showed up in Zygi to take action together.

Some of it had clearly been sitting there for a very long time.

With the support of Larnaca & Famagusta Districts Development Agency, this cleanup became more than just collecting trash.

It became a community activity focused on awareness, responsibility and our coastline.

And this time, we added something new.

We brought our plasticpreneur recycling setup directly on-site.

So people could actually see what happens after plastic is collected.

Cleanups won’t solve the entire waste problem.

But they remove real waste, bring people together and make environmental issues impossible to ignore.

Especially for younger participants, seeing that process makes recycling much more tangible.

A big thank you as well to Alpha Mega for keeping everyone supplied with snacks and refreshments throughout the morning.

Awareness matters more when people can actually experience it themselves.

The people behind the action matter just as much as the action itself.

One Cleanup. One community. One Island we all share.

And hopefully, one more reason to care a little more about what we leave behind.

And that’s where change usually starts.

Kourion is one of those places I never get tired of.
I’ve spent countless sunsets here, and I know this place means something to many of you too.
So on 3rd of October, we’re coming together to take care of it.

Together with Belle Air Villas, we’re bringing the community to Kourion for an afternoon of cleaning, music, good people, snacks and drinks.

From beach trash to an actual product. Slowly, but we’re getting there.

Today we took the recycled plastic sheets to Nicosia to see if can finally process them properly.

Every time I create posts like this, I get a little emotional.

Because it makes me angry and sad at the same time.

it doesn’t really matter where in the world you live. In some places, the problem is worse. In others, it’s less visible.

But Animal suffering is something we create.

That’s something we should take responsibility for.

A year ago, my life looked completely different.

And sometimes I wonder how much of my old life - and my old self - I had to leave behind to build this one.

This account isn’t even a year old yet.

3And somehow, in less than a year, we took a simple idea and turned it into The Island Keeper.

At some point, I decided to go all in.

Not because I knew where this would lead.

But because for the first time in a long time, I knew exactly what I wanted to build.

And when I look at what has happened since then, it’s crazy to think that I still feel like we’re only getting started.

My vision for The Island Keeper goes far beyond me.
I want Island Keeping to exist on every island.

I want this to eventually become something that doesn’t depend on me anymore.

Independent communities of people who care about their home.
Their environment.
Their animals.
And the people around them.

So this week, a close friend of mine — and an incredibly talented videographer — came to Cyprus with basically one mission:

Create the best content we’ve ever made.

And looking through these pictures now, I think I’ll just let them speak for themselves.

Because somehow they capture more than just one week of creating content.

They capture the life I chose to build.

So here are some impressions.
