"Be curious rather than judgemental." ✨

Before joining us in Prague for our concert Oliveros – Stockhausen, Gareth Davis and Robin Rimbaud (Scanner) sat down for a thoughtful conversation about listening, collaboration, memory, and the role of curiosity in artistic practice.

We were delighted to feature this interview in our latest newsletter and are happy to share it here as well.

Karlheinz Stockhausen’s EXPO unfolds through listening, reaction, and collective awareness 👀

Using short textual instructions instead of conventional notation, the work invites performers to respond in real time to radio transmissions, field recordings, resonance, silence, and one another 🔄️

Each sonic event transforms the next, creating a constantly shifting environment shaped through attention, spontaneity, and interaction within space itself. 💫

Part of Stockhausen’s series of “process” works from 1967–70, EXPO exists less as a fixed composition and more as a living situation of sound unfolding differently with every performance.

Pauline Oliveros’ Primordial/Lift approaches sound on an almost planetary scale ✨🪐

Inspired by the concept of the Earth’s resonant frequency gradually accelerating from 7.8 Hz toward 13 Hz, the work unfolds as a monumental and slowly evolving drone environment 🌍

Within Oliveros’ vision, this acceleration moves toward a speculative “zero point” — a threshold where magnetic polarity, vibration, spatial perception, and listening itself begin to shift and transform. 💫

Rather than functioning as traditional musical narrative, the piece creates an immersive field of resonance and sustained sound unfolding through physical presence within space.

Sound in motion ✨

An evening where sound moves through space, shifts between performers, resonance, and architecture, and transforms the way we listen 💫

Rather than experiencing music from a fixed point, the audience becomes immersed inside the movement of sound itself. 🌫️

Karlheinz Stockhausen ✨

Music as movement through space 🌫️

For Stockhausen, sound was never static — it travelled, shifted, surrounded the listener, and transformed the experience of space itself. 💫

This approach forms an important part of our upcoming Klang Systematiek concert, where listening becomes physical, spatial, and immersive.

✨ Enter the music. ✨

At Divadlo X10, The Disintegration Loops unfolds as a living environment of sound and light. 🌫️
No fixed perspective, no single point of focus. The music surrounds you. Time softens. ⏳

Built from decaying tape loops that slowly unravel as they repeat, The Disintegration Loops is a meditation on impermanence, memory, and transformation.
What begins as repetition gradually shifts in shape. Sound erodes. Silence enters.
What fades is not lost — it is revealed. 🌒

Light in slow motion, sound in slow motion, perception in slow motion.
A place to pause, to let time stretch, to listen without urgency. 🌬️
