Trade Planning ANALYST
- I work for trade planning manager
My job is to support my manager to deliver a shared Trade and Promotions Plan which excites customers and gives them ‘What they want’. I assist in the delivery
of the ‘When it’s gone it’s gone’ promotional plan.
Key accountabilities
75 % supporting Trade and Promotion Specialists and Managers
15 % creating and administrating Trade and Promotional analyses and database
10 % dealing with general Trade Promotion queries
Key activities
• I actively share ideas about how I could do more in my job and improve the business for customers. I acknowledge progress and celebrate success with my colleagues.
• I agree objectives with my manager and prepare for my reviews.
• I share ideas with my manager on how I can simplify my work.
• I support the rolling calendar of activity by confirming deadlines for all categories contributing to ‘I can get what I want’ for customers.
• I assist in the completion of the Trade Planning calendar of activity to include promotional launches offering good value for customers.
• I work with the other areas of the business to deliver promotional activity in store for customers. I create and administrate the Trade and Promotional analyses and database. I coordinate and communicate specific information for the briefing packs to stores in line with the critical path (Hardlines/Softlines).
• I assist in approving the leaflet offers to support and drive key promotional lines.
• I provide information to review the sell through giveaway percentage with the Buying and Merchandise Maintenance Planning teams and discuss and agree stock clearance proposals. I undertake both price strategy and cross category promotions/event maintenance. I process all approved invoices and expenses and track cost centre spend against budget.
• I monitor competitor activity, highlighting opportunities and risks.
• I coordinate and chase samples and gather information for the planogram sign off.
• I provide information ro review the sell.
Skills and experience
University degree, English knowledge (spoken and written) Communication skills. Good literacy skills. Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel/Access applications to produce reports/ presentations. Experience of balancing priorities in a fast paced, constantly changing environment to meet tight deadlines.
