Editorial Board Meeting – Soil and Water Research

The Editorial Board meeting of the Soil and Water Research journal took place on June 20, 2025, at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and partly as a videoconference. The meeting was chaired by the Editor-in-chief, Prof. Kozák. The participants discussed the journal's situation and current bibliometric data, mainly from the Web of Science (impact factor, quartile ranking, article influence score, etc.). Further possibilities for the journal's development and support from the Editorial Board Members, including expanding the membership base, have also been discussed. Editorial Board Members also discussed how to get the foreign members more involved.

Promotion of the journal Soil and Water Research at the conference “Humic Substances in Ecosystems 12.”

Soil and Water Research, a journal of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is being presented at the scientific conference „Humic Substances in Ecosystems 12“ in Wroclaw on June 2-5, 2025. The main topics of the conference are recent trends in humic substances research, transformation and role of natural organic matter in terrestrial and aquatic environments, carbon sequestration and role of humic substances in the flow of components between ecosystems, organic fertilisers and soil-improving products, and humic substances in the EU Soil Protection Strategy.

The University of Wroclaw hosts the conference. Promotional materials for the journal Soil and Water Research are provided. Thanks to the editorial board member, Assoc. Prof. Lubica Pospíšilová, for mediation.

Zpráva z workshopu „Piš a publikuj aneb Jak připravit rukopis pro vědecký časopis“

Dne 14. května 2025 se od 13:00 hodin konal online formou další z pravidelných workshopů „Piš a publikuj aneb Jak připravit rukopis pro vědecký časopis“, který pořádala Česká akademie zemědělských věd. Workshop byl určen pro začínající i zkušenější autory vědeckých článků. Cílem workshopu bylo informovat začínající i zkušené autory vědeckých článků o jednotlivých časopisech vydávaných ČAZV, o důležitých aspektech přípravy rukopisu před zasláním do redakce, o podmínkách a průběhu recenzního řízení a také o používaném redakčním systému. V neposlední řadě se také workshop zaměřil na etiku a citační normu. V rámci workshopu byl rovněž prostor na dotazy a diskuze.

This study aims to identify the gully erosion typology and development using a geomorphological approach. Gully geomorphology features were executed using combined photogrammetric approaches: aerial photography (unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV) and terrestrial photo data (structure from motion, SfM).
