Are these SSL EQs hyped?
After some testing I would say, that they are good because they are really flexible. They do sound quite good (I have to mention that I modded these a bit to increase sound quality but that's the case for all my gear).
BUT!!: The only thing I really loved them was rock bass because they have that tight low end. For drums, vocals, and guitars they work well but my other EQs give these signals more of what they need. For example my neve EQs are way more punchy and aggressive (to my ears) than the SSL.
So I guess one on these will be my backup if an additional and flexible EQ is needed in a track. Good to have that option!
What are your experiences with the 4k EQs?

Everybody uses the SSL EQs in their mixes so I thought I could give them a shot. Are they that good or is it a hype? Let's try these with some upgrades 😉

I am so glad that I never run out of nice EQs on my console. These are all modded and sound incredibly good. Nice caps, nice chips and a good power supply - amazing!
