In the fourth episode of Season 3, .stephanie.raible speaks to Katherine Kortum, a transport engineer and shared mobility expert who was bored of being stuck at her DC apartment beyond her comfort levels. She took an extreme leap to reconnect with people and feel useful - by volunteering at a testing facility near her home.

Thanks to this volunteering experience, Katherine came to know in December last year that she was eligible to get the vaccine meant for front line workers. In this clip, Katherine tells us about what went through her mind when she first learned of it and also talks about her stand on vaccine hesitancy that a lot of people may have.

"I understand why experts for the economy will be like, you can't seal yourself off indefinitely and COVID in certain ways is going to be around for a long time, even with vaccines. On the other hand, I can understand countries like Taiwan saying, yeah, but we don't want it. And we benefit from zero COVID. It is a pain for travelers. It is a strain on certain industries, but I think for the internal economy of Taiwan and for public health, basically everything to do with the safety of the people and of the communities, it is a good policy", says Carina, who had to cancel her wedding last year due to the travel restrictions.
