„TACI“—that‘s how I read this beautiful graffiti tag written on an old metal board close to Cape Kaliakra, in Bulgaria. No, that‘s most probably not what these stylized Cyrillic gorgeous fonts want to say, but that‘s what my mind and body said out loud—TACi—in Romanian meaning „Shut up!“—me viscerally feeling the need to mute the nonstop mansplaining I was forced to listen to for days already, that was literally driving me crazy.
Have you ever heard a man talking nonsense without a break, making the weirdest and most random references to every single thing he laid his eyes on, transforming every single word he selectively heard into a question that he had to address—even if that was an affirmation? I did, and it stretched my patience to a point of an inevitable snap.
But I‘m proud I didn‘t snap. I‘m proud that I managed to move my focus to seeing beauty, hearing the cicadas, the birds, the wind, the voice of my loved one, knowing this would soon be over. Maybe that‘s one form of grace—to decide to let it go, because you know this fight isn’t worth it. No, it‘s not hypocrisy—it‘s not opportunism, it‘s a new discovery that will quietly guide your next decisions.
No, I‘m not angry, not even disappointed. I‘m just glad it‘s over.

All that‘s left it‘s my curiosity: what is the meaning intended for this graffiti tag? I tried Google lens searching but no results was in any way convincing.

Ending our summer vacation with a 3-day stopover at Bulgaria’s incredible wild beaches. Wish we could find this kind of silence, space, clean water, and affordable luxury in Romania, but, it looks like those days are a thing of the past.

Short visit to my hometown Baia Mare, for a quick photoshoting of this old brutalist beauty. Casa de Cultura a Sindicatelor, once a bustling hub for the cultural events we loved as kids, it’s now in an advanced state of degradation. Wandering around to get these shots was a literal survival sport—between the broken pavement, gaping holes, and endless pigeon poo, it’s a living trap. 💀
A gorgeous piece of history left entirely to the elements. What a shame.

Today is once again cloudy and windy in Berlin, so I’m just going to post this sunny picture we took some days ago while randomly strolling in our neighbourhood. It’s been almost 10 months since we settled in our new home city, and everything is so different in our lives here - even the way time flows. My social media activity was almost muted so I feel now like doing an update and reconnecting with some of you here.

Sooooo, contrary to the public predictions, most days I’m very, very, very much in love with my new life. I spend time working in my studio, most days very focused on my lino cutting & printmaking. I still have hours or days of jumping chaotically between my other hundreds of ideas and projects that I started (and never finished), or I start new ones (yes, I still do). I still enjoy cooking, love the taste of coriander and green onion, and lately I’ve been taking daily care of three new ferments that grow their colonies in our kitchen - I even listen to symphonic music with them. I could never have imagined that living so close to the forest and a swimming lake could be so rewarding — I can’t explain how good it feels to be among the trees, listen to the birds, watch the flickering water, and be amazed by the grace of the swans and many other tiny, beautiful creatures. After the mega failed attempt to learn German with the crazy not cool old lady from Fra school, I somehow found some new motivation for a last attempt to learn this hardcore language sooo I joined a theatre class, what else? I surprised myself with how much I enjoy it - my knees trembled the first time; I nearly didn’t go due to anxiety, and I turned all red the first time I spoke. Now I can’t wait for the days when I am there! And last, but not least, I am going to hold a workshop at the end of the - this is maybe the biggest new “thing” that I’m still processing - as I am very very very excited about the collaboration that’s starting to grow with another lovely community focused studio and the people there. And yes, it’s still the same - when I get excited, I invest lots of energy, effort, work, hopes — and yes, it can get quite intense :). More about that soon!
