The new album "ZAS" by Pyanook is out now💥
On the new album "ZAS" by pianist Ralf Schmid and his alter ego Pyanook, two grand pianos and data gloves (MiMu Gloves by Imogen Heap) meet Nordic voices, analog synthesizers, violin, beatbox, and percussion to form a musical landscape between jazz and contemporary classical music. In the process, Pyanook navigates the sound through the space by gesture control, manipulates and arranges it with slight hand movements, and forms a unique musical experience. Trondheim Voices and jazz trumpeter & composer Joo Kraus accompany Pyanook on this album which they recorded in the cold region of Norway in 2022.

The next single by Pyanook is here: With "Still and still not", the composer presents a track that was created during the early days of the Corona pandemic. “My "signature track" from the Corona period. In weekly livestreams from my studio I developed new compositions in interaction with the audience and other musicians. "Still and still not" was the first in this series, catapulting me back to the time of the first lockdown, to a feeling of standstill and uncertainty but also of a new strength that emerged from this extraordinary situation.” – Pyanook

Today, 8 pm on BR-KLASSIK Livestream: Singer-songwriter Gisbert zu Knyphausen and pianist Kai Schumacher perform songs by Franz Schubert live at Kulturforum Fürth. The pieces are part of the album "Lass irre Hunde heulen" and have been arranged in a modern version never heard before.

Pyanook releases his next single "Digital Dervish". The pianist says about the song: “A call-and-response ritual begins in concentrated calm and gradually descends into ecstasy. Fired by Hakon Stene's drum, gong and breathing grooves, the game of digital echo spins and spins like a dancing dervish in a trance.”
