QOTD: Which fantasy academy has your heart? ❤️‍🔥

Some books are impossible to stop thinking about, and Arcana Academy has been one of them ever since I finished it. ✨

At its core, it’s a story about a gifted thief who finds herself at a magical academy, searching for a long-lost legendary tarot card. Add tarot-inspired magic, political intrigue, a fake engagement, and some of the most delicious slow-burn yearning I’ve read in a long time, and I was completely hooked.

So today I’m letting the book speak for itself. Swipe through for three quotes that made me fall in love with Arcana Academy.

And can we take a moment to appreciate this FairyLoot edition? The black-and-white design is just *chef’s kiss*.

If Arcana Academy isn’t on your TBR yet, I hope these quotes will change your mind. P.S. There’s never been a better time to pick it up… The sequel Prince of Swords releases on July 21st. 🗡️✨

POV: you receive the cutest proof package ever 🖤✨

I’m still not over this Devour Me package from & .

The Salt & Sage bath salts smell INCREDIBLE, the Death tarot card is stunning, and the red jasper crystal symbolises grounding, strength and courage, which fits the whole vibe of the story perfectly.

And the timing of this was so special too because I recently met in Berlin and got an autograph from her that I’m now going to place inside this proof 🥹

Devour Me is a dark paranormal romance following Dáinn, an undead wraith bound to a dark witch, Birdie, a human historian, and Jasper, a powerful rival witch. After Birdie interrupts a soul devouring ritual, the three become tangled in dangerous magic, obsession and a chaotic magical love affair that sounds absolutely addictive!

The book releases on July 30th and I already know this one is going to consume my brain for a while.

Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan & BookBreak for this gorgeous package 🖤

Not every 5⭐ book has to completely blow me away. Sometimes it just does a lot of things right.

Firmaments follows Leo (and multiple other characters), who is pulled from his normal life into a vast fantasy world shaped by powerful, almost myth-like fairies — each tied to specific roles like death, sight, or power. Their influence defines the magic system, the structure of the world, and even entire generations.

What stood out to me the most is the worldbuilding. It feels incredibly expansive, detailed, and full of original ideas. I loved how much thought went into the smaller details, especially the way the fairies are structured and how their roles actually shape the world. It made everything feel very intentional and alive.

I also really liked the illustrations. Seeing parts of the world visually added another layer of immersion and made the whole experience feel even richer.

The romance between Lola and „Beloved“ worked well for me too. It felt meaningful, and I especially liked how certain moments later in the story created a satisfying full-circle feeling.

The story itself is quite long and told through multiple POVs, but I think it was handled really well. Watching everything slowly come together kept me invested, and the twist near the end genuinely surprised me.

In the end, this is a very imaginative and detailed fantasy that clearly had a lot of care put into it and that’s exactly why it ended up being a 5⭐ read for me.

Currently Reading 📖✨

I just started Sparrow by James Hynes and I’m really excited to dive deeper into this world. I used to read a lot more historical fiction and historical inspired stories, so this feels like such a nice change of pace from my usual fantasy reads of late.

Sparrow is set during the final years of the Roman Empire and follows a boy raised in a brothel at the edge of the empire, trying to survive in a harsh and dangerous world while searching for freedom and his own identity. It feels emotional, atmospheric, and very character driven in a way I really enjoy.

And I have to say… I’m completely obsessed with the cover for Peacock, the sequel coming out in June. The purple and gold design with the foiling details is SO beautiful. 🦚✨

Thank you so much to Pan Macmillan for sending me these copies. 🤍
