A 630 kVA transformer has been installed and activated in Tawhid Abad, Ghazni city.
According to Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the project has provided electricity to around 600 families for the first time.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz cancelled a planned phone call with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, hours after Trump praised the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) following its regional election victory.
The move came after a heated Bundestag debate in which Merz accused the AfD of seeking “ethnic cleansing,” while Defence Minister Boris Pistorius highlighted the party’s links to Russia.
AfD leader Alice Weidel said Merz had failed to understand voters’ message and that his time in office was “up anyway.”

President Donald Trump proposed giving every American adult a $5,000 “Trump dividend” if Republicans retain control of Congress in November’s midterm elections.
The plan could cost about $1.35 trillion and raised questions about its legality and funding. Trump made the proposal during a lengthy speech at the Republican Party’s first midterm convention, urging voters to support his party.

Several US military aircraft were damaged in Iranian strikes on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, CBS News reported. Around eight F-15 jets sustained minor damage, while an A-10 reportedly lost a wing. No US fatalities were reported.
US forces fired more than 30 Patriot missiles to defend the base amid concerns over dwindling missile stocks.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has said a plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from Moldova to Oslo was almost hit by a drone.
Zelenskyy, whose country has been fighting Russia’s invasion since February 2022, arrived in the Norwegian capital on Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of Norway’s King Harald V.

Iran said on Wednesday that it had attacked 10 ships near the Strait of Hormuz after the United States sank five Iranian oil tankers, in the biggest reported wave of tit-for-tat attacks on shipping by the two sides since the six-month-old war began.
The attacks sent oil prices surging, with benchmark Brent crude futures rising above $100 a barrel for the first time since July.
At least one seafarer aboard a tanker was reported killed, while another was listed as missing.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that it had captured a US uncrewed underwater vehicle at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz, offering a rare glimpse into the use of underwater drones in military operations.
Iranian state media identified the vessel as a Dive-LD, a large autonomous underwater vehicle built by California-based defence company Anduril.
The 19-foot (5.8-metre) submersible can carry out missions including mine countermeasures, seabed mapping, intelligence gathering and inspections of underwater infrastructure such as cables and pipelines, according to the company.

A meeting on water resources management, chaired by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized the proper use of water resources and measures to prevent water wastage.

The meeting also discussed ensuring the water needs of citizens and the construction of dams, check dams, and agricultural canals, with necessary decisions taken in this regard.

Participants also reviewed the water resources management plan.

Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, signed a contract with a private company for the 1st block of the talc mine in the Kudi Khel area of Sherzad District, Nangarhar Province.

According to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the contract is valued at 14,826,000 US dollars, with the contracting company required to pay the Islamic Emirate a royalty of 1,970 Afghanis for each ton of talc extracted.
