If the federal government of Nigeria led by the APC doesn’t apply restraint on the excesses of some political actors may plunge the country into state of anarchy ahead of 2027 elections.

If this becomes the case, elections may likely not hold and may consequently lead to total chaos capable of forced disintegration of the component states or regions.

They should stop suffocating or suppressing dissenting voices with the use of government institutions that should ordinarily protect them.

Democracy has lost its taste and ideals within Nigeria territory!

The recent outburst or vituperation from Actor Kenneth Okonkwo, against Mr Peter Obi, is not borne out of personal conviction but political ambition which he erroneously believed could be achievable by throwing tantrum or malign Obi’s person. He may have anticipated to be considered for joint ticket with HEX Atiku but was conspicuously ignored for the choice of HEX Ameachi. Now he has made U-turn accepting what he had no capacity to change. Nigerian political terrain is one of the most difficult to navigate when you bring southeast zone to perspective. It’s an endangered zone who struggles to make her voice to be heard..

it’s difficult if not impossible to defeat Tinubu with divided opposition. This is not transition government that has some certain level of neutrality but consolidation of interest with all the machineries to his advantage. It’s only Act of God not man can change that.
Meanwhile, the mainstream opposition parties still have the possibility to collapse all presidential ambitions to file a candidate from any of the platforms if truly ready to confront the ruling APC led by President Tinubu. Anything short of that would be counterproductive even beyond 2031.

Once the system lack options to choose from, then their is no physical democracy, stifled or endangered. Allow dissenting voices to thrive, that is the beauty of multiparty system. Regard those from the opposing divide as partners in progress not as enemies. That’s the standard!

No critique is bad in any democratic system so far it’s done within the framework of extant laws. Right to freedom of expression is a global piece of legal or lawful instrument with compelling traits without which many third world countries would have evaded its domestication. However, its receipt doesn’t impose any known legal obligation stripping an independent nation power to make legislation within territory which is not inconsistent or at variance with the provisions of the international law treaty bordering on ‘Right to Freedom of Expression’. Many misconstrue this piece of global legal instrument while trying to justify destructive critique targeted at personalities instead of object of disputation. Every lawfully constituted government assumes automatic legal personality and should be treated as same while subjecting its policies and programs to public scrutiny, not to opprobrium.
