I’m so honored to work with one of the top pentesting companies in Germany, ProSec GmbH, and even represent them in this video.
Usually, you’re only allowed to represent them if you’re one of their best hackers, so yeah, I’m a bit teary-eyed while posting this 😅
It’s been one heck of a hacking journey.
Looking back 12 years ago...
I started as one of the dumbest (I guess) in the hacking scene in the Philippines.
I wasn’t a genius, just driven by pure hard work and perseverance.
Back then, things were really tough. I was ridiculed for even trying to share knowledge just because I wasn’t “the best.”
Every mistake I made was met with harsh criticism from so-called “gurus” in the PH community, ridiculed, shamed publicly, to the point where I honestly thought of ending my life several times. (Unperks of being a public person, I guess.).
Behind the scenes, that’s what really happened.
Building in public, raising cybersecurity awareness, and making mistakes in front of everyone, it was hellish at times.
To reach where I am today, where people know me as the former CEO of Cryptors, someone who helped raise cybersecurity awareness and inspired millions through books, apps, and events, a YouTuber, a hacker and startup founder who’s received multiple awards, and a Filipino guy who left PH for Europe to keep improving and chasing growth, I can confidently say,
it wasn’t just luck, and it was definitely not easy.
Fast forward to today...
I became less dumb. 😂
I still don’t call myself “smart,” though, because the moment I do, I might get complacent or arrogant.
I’d rather be a forever student.
One client once told me, “You’re a genius.”
What she didn’t know was that it took countless sleepless nights, and sacrificing time with my wife, just to fully understand that technique and execute it perfectly.
This vlog is special to me.
These are the lessons I’d tell my younger self, the one from 12 years ago who was struggling, doubting, and learning the hard way, so his hacking journey could’ve been a little less rocky.
I dedicate this video to everyone like me, those who aren’t “naturally gifted,” but still dream of thriving in this field. ❤️

I didn’t realize I was losing myself…
Until I read a review of my own book
There were times I caught myself trying to please people I didn’t even like…
Working on things that drained me instead of fulfilling me…
Forgetting who I truly was, and what I really wanted.
And every time I lose my way, I come back to this one review of my book.
It’s not the highest rating.
But it has the 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 on me.
Because every time I read it, it reminds me of who I really am,
behind the titles, the noise, and the expectations.
Sometimes, I even go back and read my own journal or pages from my book…
And it feels like I’m reading words from someone who knows me better than I know myself.
It’s strange, and beautiful, how our own words can find us when we forget ourselves.
To whoever wrote that review, maybe you’ve seen me at one of my events.
Maybe you don’t even realize what your words did.
But thank you.
You reminded me to keep chasing what truly matters,
To stay grounded,
And to never lose sight of who I really am.
For those who might want to find the free version of the book, it's on my personal website: https://alexislingad.org/
Enjoy 🙂

Is being interviewed in live national television worth it for your business?

Here's what I experienced...
I built a strategy while in my dressing room...
I said, "Know the common audience
of the show you're appearing on."
I said, "From those audience, who among those are likely match for your business?"
I said,
"While you're live speaking in national TV,
imagine you're talking in front of those
matched audience"
Will I attract/connect to them with what I'll say?
When the director says "ACTION!",
I forgot everything I was telling myself above 😅
I went to my default mode.
When we do "business" we don't talk to them
to "sell" them something...
We talk to them to "help" them...
And in there, my blazing passion in helping the world,
is on FIRE, to the point that I higher my voice in some instances
looking its like I'm slight shouting (in national live TV 😂 )
Few minutes after the show, my KPI...
just slightly increased, nothing fancy...
What I attract shooked me...
Investors trying to join my movement
and among them is Marvin Agustin
which I guess most of the Filipinos knew for his popularity
both as an artist, a successful businessman and investor.

LESSON?
If you really want to help the people/world with your business,
then you don't need a trick, JUST BE YOU! ^^

In 2015, I was just 18 yrs old
and they told me I CANNOT DO IT.
- Speaking in public seminars
- Launching my own book
- Creating my own company
I accepted it as a challenge even though:
- There's a lot of people better than me (I'm one of the dumbest)
- No publishing house will have interest to a teenager
- I am a geek who do not know how to market
I just dived in and DID IT anyways...
The Result?
- I did my not-so-perfect first cyber security seminar anyways.
I improved it again and again until I didn't realized I reached my 100th+ seminars (picture below is my 1st public speaking)
- I wrote my book, gave it to experts and put their honest reviews, then pre-sell it, self-published it using the money from pre-sell, then had my book launch in my first seminar ;)
- I assembled my amazing team, registered a corporation and aside from doing a lot of MISTAKES, we also raised cyber security awareness and products that MILLIONS of people until now is using around the world, the awards just came afterwards, the main thing is the IMPACT!
The Lesson?
The next time someone told you "YOU CANNOT DO IT",
use it as a FUEL to IMPROVE and DO WHAT YOU LOVE anyways! :)

It's been 5 years since I stopped teaching and a lot of my previous students are always asking when I'm coming back to teaching. I actually gathered a lot of actual extreme experience here in Europe so I can be a better teacher for everyone there in the PH.
.
And now, a selected volunteers and myself organized this physical event in the Philippines or should I say "passion project" of ours to give back to the cyber security community of where I came from. In here, I will tackle some of the most important techniques and lessons I learned for every pentest I executed from physical pentest, external and internal network pentest, phishing, stolen device testing, IoT pentest and OT pentest.
Just email [email protected] if you are interested and we will give you more information regarding the event. Only limited seats are available!
There's also a guest speaker that I respect in Web App Hacking and I can say one of the best in the Philippines. If you are interested to know who that is then feel free to join the physical event on November 29! 🙂
For schools and government agencies that tapped me several times to speak back then, here's your chance! I will visit PH the whole December and will visit again in PH by February.
Just email your invitation letter to this email: [email protected] and our group of volunteers will accommodate your request. (If we are not acquainted, then they might conduct an investigation and video call with you to make sure you're not a syndicate or a crime organization or something XD).
And hey, for the schools and government agencies, you don't have to pay for anything since this is a passion project and you have the venue already. You can use the fund instead in marketing the event you planned so many more students/employees will be aware! 🙂
See you Philippines!!!

And I'm coming back! Soon!
