The recent 2025 budget presented by the Honourable Finance Minister of Ghana, Dr. Ato Forson, was warmly received by many Ghanaians. The budget focused on stabilising the cedi and reducing inflation through “shock therapy” measures such as expenditure cuts and the removal of certain taxes. However, the effectiveness of these measures will depend on strict implementation and the government’s ability to address challenges in a timely manner. One notable aspect of the budget that drew significant attention was the allocation of about 279 million dollars as revolving fund for the Ghana Gold Board. While this initiative holds potential, it currently falls under the service sector of the economy, where there is limited opportunity for value addition along the supply chain. The government should continue to keep a strong focus on agriculture, manufacturing, processing, and distribution, as these sectors are vital for building a resilient and prosperous Ghana🇬🇭 .

Today is International Women’s Day. From households to communities and nations, women play a crucial role in ensuring transformation and progress. Every young girl in the world should be encouraged to reach her full potential when given the opportunity, especially by seeing role models who can guide and inspire them to achieve their dreams.
Governments must make a conscious effort to actively support and empower young girls as they grow into women of substance. Thus, leaders who will drive development and change. Every young girl and woman across the globe should be encouraged to be confident, bold, and relentless in their pursuit of positive contributions to society.
Women must consciously eliminate fear and self-doubt, replacing them with self-confidence, boldness, and determination.
In recent years, we have seen more women securing top-profile jobs and leadership positions. Not to forget our very own Vice President of the Republic of 🇬🇭, her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. This is a sign of progress and a refreshing time to live in. However, more work remains, as the gender pay gap persists, even in developed nations. As women, we must not shy away from our abilities and capabilities. We should remain confident, steadfast, and committed to inspiring the generations that follow.

We can, we should, we will, we have done it!
