Japan just crossed the line! https://www.facebook.com/share/191zV4mvHW/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Japan just did something it has never done in its entire postwar history.
For the first time ever, Japanese officers are being sent into NATO's command for the war in Ukraine.
Four Self-Defense Forces officers will report to NSATU, NATO's Ukraine support headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Two from the Ground force, one from the Air force, one from the Maritime force.
They won't fight. Their job is to coordinate equipment and training, and to act as liaisons with partner nations.
But make no mistake about what this means.
This is one of the biggest shifts in Japan's security posture since the end of World War II.
The same country that spent decades locked behind a strictly limited defense policy is now sitting inside a NATO war room.
Tokyo's own ministry said it plainly: security in Europe and security in the Indo-Pacific are now one and the same.
Japan is watching this war closely — and learning.
Is this the smart move for Japan, or a step too far from its pacifist roots?
