🇩🇪🏨 Want to do a Hospitality Ausbildung in Germany?

I’ve put together useful places where you can search and apply directly to hotels, restaurants and hospitality companies.

Important: An employer does not automatically “sponsor your visa.” If you are selected, the employer normally gives you an Ausbildungsvertrag (training contract).

You then use that contract to apply for the appropriate visa/residence permit and must meet the immigration requirements.

1️⃣ Official places to search for Ausbildung

🔹 Ausbildung.de
Search for:

* Hotelfachmann/Hotelfachfrau
* Koch/Köchin
* Fachmann/Fachfrau für Restaurants und Veranstaltungsgastronomie

🔹 Make it in Germany

Official German government information for international applicants. Search for vocational training and hospitality opportunities.

🔹 Federal Employment Agency (Arbeitsagentur / Jobbörse)
Search for:

* Ausbildung Hotelfachmann
* Ausbildung Koch
* Ausbildung Gastronomie

🔹 Azubiyo
Another useful platform for finding Ausbildung vacancies.

2️⃣ Hotel groups to check

Look directly at the companies’ career pages and search for “Ausbildung” or “Ausbildung 2026/2027.”

🏨 Maritim Hotels
🏨 Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts
🏨 IntercityHotel / Deutsche Hospitality
🏨 Motel One
🏨 Dorint Hotels
🏨 Leonardo Hotels
🏨 NH Hotels

Don’t only apply to one company. Apply to many suitable vacancies.

3️⃣ Restaurants & catering companies

Also search companies such as:

🍽️ L’Osteria
🍽️ Block House
🍽️ Vapiano
🍽️ Compass Group
🍽️ Sodexo

Availability and Ausbildung vacancies change, so always check the company’s current career page before applying.

4️⃣ ZAV – International Placement

The Zentrale Auslands- und Fachvermittlung (ZAV) is part of the German Federal Employment Agency and can provide information and, in certain cases, support international applicants looking for Ausbildung or employment in Germany.

⚠️ Do not confuse ZAV with a guaranteed visa programme. There is no guarantee that ZAV will find you a position.

🇩🇪 What do you normally need?

✅ German language skills ,B1 is generally the important minimum for the vocational-training visa, although individual employers may require B2 or higher.

✅ A German-style CV (Lebenslauf)

✅ A good Anschreiben/Motivationsschreiben

✅ School certificates and other required documents

✅ An Ausbildungsvertrag if you are applying for the vocational-training visa from abroad

✅ Proof that you meet the applicable visa/residence requirements, including the financial requirements where applicable.

⚠️ You do NOT universally need a Goethe certificate. Whether a specific certificate is required can depend on the visa situation, training programme and other circumstances.

⏰ Apply early!

Many Ausbildung programmes begin around August or September, and employers often recruit months in advance.

For the best chance, start searching and applying well before the intended start date.

🔎 Useful search terms

Try:

“Ausbildung Hotelfachfrau internationale Bewerber”

“Ausbildung Koch internationale Bewerber”

“Ausbildung Gastronomie Deutschland”

“Ausbildung Hotel mit Unterkunft”

“Ausbildung Hotelfachmann Bewerber aus dem Ausland”

🚨 One VERY important point

Getting an Ausbildung contract does not automatically mean you will receive a German visa.

The correct process is generally:

Find vacancy → Apply → Interview/selection → Receive Ausbildung contract → Apply for the appropriate visa/residence permit → Meet the immigration requirements → Start your Ausbildung.

And don’t pay an agent thousands of euros simply because they promise you a “guaranteed Ausbildung + visa.”

Apply directly whenever possible. 🇩🇪❤️

Do your research, check the employer, and verify visa information through official German sources before paying anyone.

🌍🇩🇪 Your goal is possible — but use the correct information and avoid scams.

Once do the disappointments in Germany 🇩🇪 is hearing people complaining about other people for doing somethings they also do.

It’s so painful and emotionally disturbing how you can struggle to get a place for integration course in Germany yet there are people who were approved and don’t come to school. They just don’t want to learn.

Toooo many sick notes, sick or excuses?

Finding an apartment in Germany can be incredibly difficult ,especially when you are a foreigner.

But is every rejection racism? (FULL VIDEO IN THE COMMENTS)

In this video, I talk honestly about some of the reasons landlords may hesitate to rent to certain applicants, including previous bad experiences with tenants, concerns about unpaid rent, property damage, insurance, documentation, overcrowding, frequent moves and other risks.

I also talk about something many people don’t want to discuss: how individual experiences can sometimes turn into stereotypes about an entire group of people and how that can affect Black people and other foreigners looking for housing in Germany.

I share my own experiences of living with different people and why I believe we should be honest enough to acknowledge problematic behaviour without blaming an entire race, nationality or group for the actions of individuals.

At the same time, landlords also have responsibilities, and being cautious does not automatically make someone racist. The real question is: when does reasonable caution become discrimination?

This is not an attack on Germans, landlords, Black people or foreigners. It’s a conversation about stereotypes, personal experiences, media influence, discrimination and the reality of finding housing in Germany.

What do you think? Where should we draw the line between protecting yourself from a bad tenant and unfairly judging someone because of their background?
