My name is Joyce Mensah (Dzidzor). As many of you know, I am a Ghanaian woman currently living in Hamburg, Germany. Today, I am breaking my silence—not just for my own sake, but to protect the life of my 10-year-old son and myself.
Eleven years ago, I was in a relationship with Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the current General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). That relationship resulted in the birth of our son, who lives with me here in Germany.
For a decade, Mr. Kwetey ignored his child. He advised me to keep this entire matter a strict secret to protect his political profile. When he later questioned paternity and demanded a DNA test, I willingly agreed, under the condition that it be done legally here in Germany. Instead of cooperating, he made himself completely unavailable.
Driven by desperation to resolve this family matter, I recently traveled from Germany to Ghana. I went directly to the elders of the Nogokpo shrine—his ancestral home—to lay the matter before them. I did not inform him of my trip.
What followed was a nightmare.
Few weeks upon arriving in Nogokpo, unidentified gunmen on motorcycles began stalking and tracking my every move. It took an agonizing, terrifying effort for me to escape that perimeter and flee safely back to Germany.
I have made an official report to the Ghana Police via email on 23rd June 2026 through the official email. [email protected] failing to reply my digital reports, I am using my public platform to make this Official Complaint completely transparent.
TO THE GHANA POLICE SERVICE:
I am a Ghanaian citizen, and I currently fear for my life. I cannot safely return to my home country. I am formally calling on the IGP and the police administration to:
Investigate the armed stalking and intimidation I faced at Nogokpo.
Investigate any links between those gunmen and Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
Ensure my safety and the safety of my family from political retaliation.
I am fully prepared to cooperate with Ghanaian law enforcement remotely and will provide all necessary evidence regarding my travel history and child records to a secured, verified police representative.
My platform is my protection. I will not be silenced, and I will not let my child be erased or threatened
