🌍 Happy World Earth Day 2025 🌊

For us divers and snorkelers, the ocean is more than just water. It’s our peace, our escape, our playground. But not only is it fun, it’s also crucial for our surviving.

Although it’s so important, it’s under threat. Every piece of plastic, every floating bottle is a reminder that we have a part to play. Us humans drag garbage not only to the moon, but also to the deepest point of the world: The Mariana Trench.

Even if you don’t like these pictures, here’s some aspects about why freediving instead of snorkeling is actually beneficial:

1. Freediving lets you observe marine creatures like fish and turtles up close. Have you seen my dolphins video?

2. No need to go deep! You can explore coral reefs and a variety of marine life at depths of 1 to 10 meters.

3. Without a snorkel, you experience the underwater world in complete silence — perfect for animal interactions.

4. With just a mask and fins, you’re more flexible and lighter in the water and don’t need to carry heavy scuba equipment.

5. Freediving gives you more freedom of movement and allows you to dive deeper without staying at the surface.

6. Freediving is super relaxing for your mind, that’s a huge plus! It’s my favorite sport to release stress.
