HUGE FISH ROOM CHANGES ⬇️

I actually wanted to start my new aquarium projects a long time ago. Instead, I spontaneously decided to completely restructure my fish room first, which turned into quite a big project. 🫣

I’ll explain exactly what I changed and why in the video. But let me tell you one thing: I’m absolutely exhausted now. 😂

You know how it is, right? You get „just one little idea” or think that making one small change would actually make sense… and suddenly you’re standing right in the middle of absolute chaos.

But it’s finally done! 🙌

And now, for me, the highlight of the year officially begins. 😍

Eigentlich wollte ich meine neuen Aquarien-Projekte schon längst gestartet haben. Stattdessen habe ich mich spontan dazu entschieden, vorher noch eine ziemlich aufwendige Umstrukturierung in meinem Fischraum durchzuziehen. 🫣

Was genau ich verändert habe und warum, erfahrt ihr im Video. Aber so viel sei gesagt: Jetzt bin ich erstmal komplett platt. 😂

Kennt ihr das? Man bekommt „mal eben“ noch eine Idee oder denkt sich, dass eine kleine Änderung eigentlich ganz sinnvoll wäre … und plötzlich steht man mitten im Chaos des Grauens.

DREAM PROJECT INFOS ⬇️

The new aquarium setup, including the aluminium rack, is finally standing! 😍

Next week, I’ll reveal what I have planned for the new aquariums. Over the following weeks, I’ll then take you through the entire process step by step: from setting up the new aquariums and choosing the fish species to the individual projects and, finally, the finished fish room. 🐠

I’m genuinely so excited about these projects and can’t wait to take you along for every step. I hope you’ll be able to take something away from them too and maybe even find some inspiration for your own aquariums! 😊

Endlich steht das neue Aquarium bzw. das neue Aluminiumgestell! 😍

Nächste Woche verrate ich euch, was ich mit den neuen Aquarien geplant habe. Danach nehme ich euch über die kommenden Wochen Schritt für Schritt mit.
Von der Einrichtung der neuen Aquarien über die Auswahl der Fischarten und die dazugehörigen Projekte bis hin zum fertigen Fischraum. 🐠

Ich habe wirklich richtig Bock auf diese Projekte und freue mich darauf, euch bei jedem einzelnen Schritt mitzunehmen. Ich hoffe, dass ihr dabei selbst einiges mitnehmen und vielleicht die eine oder andere Idee für eure eigenen Aquarien entdecken könnt! 😊

NEW PROJECT INFOS ⬇️

Today, I’m showing you how I’m building my aluminum shelving system. And before anyone asks: no, I’m definitely not a DIY expert. 😂

The system is made from anodized aluminum profiles (25 × 25 mm) and connectors with a steel core. Together, they create a really solid structure that can be assembled step by step.

💡
Two very important tips if you’re building a system like this yourself:

1️⃣ Have a plan!
Think about exactly what you want the finished structure to look like before you start. Especially with larger projects, this can save you a lot of time and frustration later.

2️⃣ Sort your profiles by size!
Lay out all your aluminum profiles and organize them by size before you start.

And this is only the beginning. Over the next few weeks, I’ll take you along for the entire project and show you how everything comes together, step by step.

Heute zeige ich euch, wie ich mein Alu-Steckregal aufbaue. Und bevor Fragen kommen: Nein, ich bin definitiv kein Handwerksprofi. 😂

Das System besteht aus eloxierten Aluminiumprofilen (25 × 25 mm) und Steckverbindern mit Stahlkern. Zusammen ergibt das eine ziemlich stabile Konstruktion, die sich Stück für Stück aufbauen lässt.

💡 Zwei wichtige Tipps, wenn ihr selbst so ein System aufbauen wollt:

1️⃣ Habt einen Plan!
Überlegt euch vorher genau, wie das fertige Konstrukt aussehen soll. Gerade bei größeren Projekten spart euch das später jede Menge Arbeit.

2️⃣ Sortiert eure Profile nach Größe!
Legt euch die einzelnen Aluprofile am besten vorher übersichtlich zurecht.

Und das hier ist erst der Anfang. In den nächsten Wochen nehme ich euch Schritt für Schritt beim gesamten Projekt mit.

A lot has changed in my fish room, and over the next few weeks I’ll take you through the entire transformation. 🐠

Today, we’re starting with what my current aquarium and rack system is made of.

Coming up:

• building the new aluminium rack
• what the new system is designed for
• new aquariums and projects
• how the entire room has changed

I’ve been a little quieter lately to plan my 2026 content and prepare everything that’s coming next.

And I think some really cool things are about to happen. 🤝

Es hat sich einiges in meinem Fischraum verändert und in den kommenden Wochen möchte ich euch die komplette Umstrukturierung Schritt für Schritt zeigen. 🐠

Heute starten wir damit, aus welchen Bestandteilen mein aktuelles Aquarium- bzw. Regalsystem eigentlich besteht.

In den nächsten Wochen geht es dann unter anderem um:

• den Aufbau des neuen Alugestells
• welchen Sinn und Zweck das neue System hat
• welche neuen Aquarien in den Keller kommen
• welche neuen Projekte dadurch entstehen
• und wie sich der gesamte Raum verändert hat

Die letzten Wochen habe ich mich dafür bewusst etwas zurückgehalten, um die Videos für 2026 zu planen und die nächsten Schritte vorzubereiten. Und ich glaube, da entstehen richtig coole Sachen. 🤝

Ich freue mich darauf, gemeinsam mit euch in die Hauptsaison der Aquaristik zu starten und euch wieder deutlich mehr aus meinem Fischraum zu zeigen. 🐟

IMPORTANT INFOS ⤵️

I will probably offend some breeders and retailers, but I believe it is important to raise awareness and provide proper information about Apistogramma viejita. 🐠

In this video, you can see a pair of true viejita from Colombia. 🇨🇴

This species is imported only extremely rarely, and the truth is that 99.9% of all viejita offered in the trade are actually color-bred forms of Apistogramma macmasteri. Therefore, you can assume that Apistogramma viejita II, viejita gold, and similar fish are in fact Apistogramma macmasteri and are very often mislabeled in the aquarium trade. 😐

Feel free to share this video with friends and fellow aquarists who currently believe that they have Apistogramma viejita swimming in their aquariums.

Mit diesem Video werde ich einigen Züchtern und Händlern vermutlich vor den Kopf stoßen, aber ich finde, dass es wichtig ist, für Aufklärung rund um Apistogramma viejita zu sorgen. 🐠

In dem Video seht ihr ein Paar der echten viejita aus Kolumbien. 🇨🇴

Diese Art wird nur äußerst selten importiert, und die Realität ist, dass nahezu alle im Handel angebotenen viejita zu 99,9 % Farbzuchten von Apistogramma macmasteri sind. Ihr könnt also davon ausgehen, dass eure Apistogramma viejita II, viejita gold usw. allesamt Apistogramma macmasteri sind und im Handel sehr häufig falsch ausgezeichnet werden. 😮

INFOS ABOUT ⬇️

Congochromis dimidiatus is a small dwarf cichlid from Central Africa, native to the middle Congo River basin, including areas of the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 🇨🇩

In this video, you can see the parents guiding their tiny offspring through the aquarium. Before they form a pair bond, spawn in caves and both parents take care of their fry.

This is exactly what makes keeping dwarf cichlids so fascinating to me - watching their natural behaviour. 🐠

Congochromis dimidiatus ist ein kleiner Zwergbuntbarsch aus Zentralafrika und stammt aus dem mittleren Kongobecken, unter anderem aus Gebieten der Republik Kongo und der Demokratischen Republik Kongo. 🇨🇩

In diesem Video könnt ihr sehen, wie die Elterntiere ihre winzigen Jungtiere durch das Aquarium führen. Zuvor bilden sie ein Paar, laichen in Höhlen ab und kümmern sich anschließend gemeinsam um ihren Nachwuchs.

Genau das macht die Haltung von Zwergbuntbarschen für mich so faszinierend - ihr natürliches Verhalten beobachten zu können. 🐠

VERY RARE SPAWNING ⬇️

Spawning of Pelvicachromis kribensis “Bissiang” 🐟

I’ve had the chance to observe spawning in several species many times before. However, there was usually not much to see, as they almost always choose the clay caves as their spawning site.

This time, the pair initially stayed in a cave as well, but then decided to use a much more visible one. 😍

I’m really curious to see if and how this clutch develops. If possible, I’ll film the entire development of the larvae and fry for you.

How do you like these kinds of insights? And have you ever seen something like this happen in person? 😊

Ablaichen der Pelvicachromis kribensis „Bissiang“ 🐟

Das Ablaichen verschiedener Arten konnte ich schon oft beobachten. Allerdings war dabei meist nicht viel zu erkennen, da die Tiere fast immer die Toniglus als Laichhöhle nutzen.

Diesmal saß das Paar zunächst ebenfalls in einer Höhle, entschied sich dann aber kurzerhand für die sehr gut einsehbare Höhle. 😍

Ich bin sehr gespannt, ob und wie sich dieses Gelege entwickelt. Sofern es möglich ist, werde ich die gesamte Entwicklung der Larven und Jungfische für euch mitfilmen.

Currently, I have a total of 22 different dwarf cichlid species that are either breeding, raising fry, or already have fry growing up in the grow-out tanks! 🐠

In this video, you can see all of the species briefly. First come the Apistogramma, followed by the West African dwarf cichlids and finally the grow-out tanks. 👀
