Veteran Kumawood actor Wayoosi has revealed that Salinko’s remarkable selflessness is a lifelong habit rather than a recent development.

Reflecting on their early film careers, Wayoosi explained that Salinko consistently distributed the bulk of his acting fees among his castmates, keeping only a fraction for himself.

He added that Salinko’s generosity extends to his personal belongings, noting that if someone simply expresses admiration for his phone, he will instantly eject his SIM card and gift the device on the spot.

A JHS graduate celebrated for scoring 1 in all subjects, including French, couldn't answer a basic French question on Auntie Naa's show raising serious questions about results, real learning, and the future we are building for our children.

A JHS graduate who appeared on Auntie Naa's Oyerepa Afutuo show is reported to have scored Grade 1 in all subjects in her BECE, including French.

However, what happened on the show was astonishing. When she was asked in French, "Tu parles français?" meaning "Do you speak French?", she could not answer.

So how did she get a Grade 1 in French?
This is very serious, and it is time we take our education system seriously, because this defies logic. It is like scoring Grade 1 in English yet being unable to answer a simple question like "Do you speak English?"

As a nation, we must be careful about how we over-rely on excellent results just to boost the image of schools, instead of thinking about the future of the students themselves. Nowadays, it seems all you need is to be able to read and write, so that when 'apoo' comes, you can do it smartly. This is a shame.

Let’s use this opportunity to congratulate Oyerepa Radio, Auntie Naa, and the entire Oyerepa Afutuo team, together with their listeners and donors, for the wonderful work they continue to do for these JHS students. May God bless them.
