Warpcam History/Info
With Warpcam we strive to increase the overall productivity of action shots. One of our features is the continuous workflow from design to finished product. We pre-vis, and shoot with our Warpcam with the same restrictions as well as advantages. Thus creating no surprises on the shoot day.
Warpcam was developed by Ferdi Fischer and Daniel Leavitt in order to capture shots in a way never before possible. They have been working with warpcam prototypes since 2013. The warpcam system has a digital down-link that is used for controlling the pan, roll, tilt movements of the gimbal. Ferdi holds the camera and moves it throughout space, while Daniel controls all movement of the camera from his monitor. This allows Ferdi to focus on camera position, and moving through the scene, while Daniel focuses on framing.
While Warpcam can be used to achieve standard, Russian arm, steady-cam, movi, techno-crane, cable-cam, and dolly style shots. It can also do many things that these technologies cannot.
It can be quickly attached or detached to drones, or cable-cams. It can be used to go through tight spaces that other camera systems could not. And because of the nearly unlimited freedom of movement, and perfectly stabilized image. It allows us to shoot in a style not possible before. Utilizing this style we can do full scale fight scenes with actors, establish locations in seconds, travel large distances seemingly instantly, and much more.
Warp Style:
Action scenes that feature our signature Warpcam effect/style normally are pre-visualized, and shot by Ferdi and Daniel with the Warpcam system. Also, In our past experience with productions it showed that when Ferdi and Daniel edited the footage we got the best results when it comes to Warpcam style sequences.
Everything is shot with the editing plan in mind, utilizing many different tricks and timings, making the sequence’s intricacies very difficult for traditional editors.
