This weekend, the Oslo launch of The Sound Issue! Come by Kunstbok Oslo at Kunstnernes hus 15-16 November from 12-17 every day and get your copy as long as they last. See you there!

We’re happy and excited to soon have the new issue of FUKT #23 in our hands! The release will be in November, but you can already pre-order now.

The Sound Issue traces the relation between sound and drawing – where they meet, overlap, and translate each other.

How can a drawing capture rhythm, voice, or noise? What does sound look like on paper?

From graphic scores and musical structures to resonance, vibration, and listening, this issue brings together artists who turn sound into image and image into sound. Some works follow the pulse of music, others trace the invisible currents of electromagnetic fields, the voices of whales, or the inner sound of thought and memory.

Featuring: Richard McGuire, Christina Kubisch, Daphne Oram, Dannielle Tegeder, Ariel Guzik, Katja Pudor, Zita Borbély, Lauren Housego, Camille Norment, Christine Sun Kim, Raven Chacon, Christine Ödlund, Clara Mosconi, Eduardo Partida, Henrique Vaz, Iannis Xenakis, Jorinde Voigt, Wei Ting Tseng, William Engelen, Diogo Pimentão, Irma Blank, Violaine Lochu, Dom Bouffard, Volodymyr Agafonkin, Channa Horwitz, Margaret Watts Hughes, Satch Hoyt, Julien Gachadoat, Satoshi Tomiie, Hildur Guðnadóttir and Brian Eno.

OPEN CALL
Deadline: 20 June 2025

FUKT Magazine for Drawing is now accepting submissions for our next issue:
FUKT 23 – The Sound Issue

How can drawing respond to sound?
What does rhythm look like on paper?
Can we draw silence, music, memory, or noise?

We’re looking for projects and series where drawing connects with sound — through music, field recordings, voice, mixtapes, or the inner hum of memory. Whether abstract, emotional, structured, or raw—if your work resonates with this theme, we’d love to see it.
