Artist Spotlight: Dominik Eulberg

Rohrdommel - out now on Ritter Butzke Records

Dominik Eulberg is not just a DJ.
He’s a biologist, a sound ecologist, a techno philosopher - and one of the few artists who manage to turn a dancefloor into a field trip through nature.

Born in the Westerwald region of Germany, Dominik has been connecting the worlds of beats and biodiversity for over two decades. His deep connection to nature is not just metaphorical – he holds a degree in ecology, has worked in nature conservation, and still volunteers for bird monitoring programs.

From his early releases on Traum Schallplatten to remix work for artists like Nathan Fake and DJ Hell, his signature sound blends minimal techno with the pulse of the natural world.

In 2022, his concept album Avichrom charted across Germany and continued his long-standing tradition of naming tracks after native bird species. Each composition is both a celebration and a call to protect the fragile ecosystems that inspire his work.

With Rohrdommel, Eulberg once again tunes into the quiet poetry of the animal kingdom. The track is named after the elusive bittern – a master of camouflage whose presence is often heard before it’s seen.
