Shaw Cuts loves…villaWuller - mixed by LaraLacht & Tobi Maletzke

villaWuller is a highly acclaimed, non-commercial club and cultural venue located in the historic city of Trier, Germany. Established in 2011 by Berni Robert, Christian Schütt and a team of likeminded people and now run by a non-profit cultural association (Kulturverein villaWuller e.V.) since 2017, it serves as a crucial hub for the region's alternative underground scene.
By operating as a non-profit, the club prioritizes high-quality, artistic bookings and community projects over profit maximization. It maintains inexpensive entry fees and fair drink prices.
The venue is known for its cozy, living-room atmosphere and strictly enforces a no-photo/no-video policy so guests can fully immerse themselves in the music without worrying about their appearance.
While known as a prime destination for underground electronic music, the venue offers an eclectic program including live concerts, art exhibitions, and workshops as well.
Address: Ausoniusstraße 2, 54292 Trier, Germany (located very close to the famous Roman gate Porta Nigra).

Particularly in times when I am left with the regrettable impression that almost the entire scene is increasingly dominated by ego-driven behaviour and hierarchical mindsets—and when hardly anyone seems genuinely willing to support one another without the prerequisite of significant personal gain—I wish to do my part to at least somehow counteract this downward trend.
For this reason, I would like to launch a new podcast series designed to offer a platform to all the clubs and collectives that have previously given Shaw Cuts a platform within their own venues. The series will be called „Shaw Cuts loves…“ and will feature a 1–2 hour B2B set performed by two artists (preferably a mixed-gender pairing) from the respective clubs/collectives. Together, they will present the signature sound that defines their venue or event series—and do so entirely without musical boundaries.
In addition to the mixes, there will also be a quick-fire Q&A session with the respective clubs or collectives, allowing you to get to know them better and get a real feel for the kind of parties they throw.
The first episode of this series is set to be released as early as June 2026—so stay tuned!

„Human Lanterns“ has officially landed on Shaw Cuts last week and is available now on 12“ vinyl & digital.

For me personally, it’s always the biggest challenge to release on my own label. On the one hand it’s amazing to be completely independent and free in all of my decisions about a record and on the other hand it can be so unsettling and difficult to decide and to do everything on my own when it comes to my own music. And also because my artist perspective tries to align itself with my label owner perspective and that is something very difficult and intense for me. Testing some tracks of the EP in my latest live-sets surely gave me the confidence to put these out after the good resonance I mostly felt on the dance-floor. I usually need a few days after the release date to fully let a project go and that was also the case with this EP. But looking back on it, I’m definitely satisfied and happy about the sound direction I took - broken rhythms meet powerful basslines and cinematic atmospheres inspired by cult kung-fu cinema.
