Mariel, a mother from Sta.Teresita, Cagayan, dreams of a home where her children can feel safe, eat well, and prepare for school without worry.
But after Super Typhoon ( ) hit their community, damaging their home and livelihood, they struggled to meet their daily needs.
Her husband, a farmer, has been trying to recover what little he could from their typhoon-damaged rice fields. With little income coming in, it became harder to afford food, school supplies, and allowances for their children.
In March, the P5,000 cash assistance from Save the Children, with support from QBE Foundation, provided timely relief for Mariel’s family. It helped them meet their children’s basic needs and slowly rebuild what they had lost.
“Nakabili kami ng bigas, grocery, at may pang-allowance na rin ang mga bata. Malaking tulong ito lalo na’t gipit kami ngayon. Nakadagdag din sa pagpapaayos ng bahay, para mas ligtas na ang mga anak ko kung sakaling bumagyo ulit,” Mariel shared.
Because of this support, Mariel is able to provide a more stable environment for her children.
You can help more mothers like Mariel protect what matters most—their children.
