Chess just got its most decorated Winter Olympian.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, 11 Olympic gold medals, the most decorated Winter Olympian of all time, is now an investor in Norway Chess AS and the Total Chess World Championship Tour.

He is not alone. Norway Chess has completed a $10 million share issue, valuing the company at $35 million. The new investor group includes Klæbo, Knut Ugland and Hans Øivind Nordvik, among other prominent Norwegian business figures with experience building and commercialising sport at the highest level.

The Total Chess World Championship Tour has FIDE approval for at least 16 years. The pilot tournament runs November 10 - 24, 2026. The full season launches in 2027, with four tournaments, four host cities, a minimum annual prize fund of $2.7 million, and the title of FIDE World Combined Champion.
