Ecology of Ideas Podcast

Ecology of Ideas Podcast The ecological crisis is foremost
a crisis in our ways of thinking. My research is about propelling ecosystemic thinking to make digitalization serve humanity.

In this podcast, digital ecologist Attila Márton takes the audience along on his journey of discovering how we may change our ways of thinking to better handle our ecology of crisis. To this effect, I am currently exploring the co-evolutionary dynamics between platforms and their respective ecosystems, the political ecology of digital labour and AI, the sociology of digital knowledge and forgetting, and the re-decentralization of the Internet.

What if ecology wasn’t just about our planet, but the entire universe?

In this episode, philosopher Thomas Nail introduces the idea of cosmic ecology, an understanding of entropy not as decay, but as the natural flow of energy across the cosmos.
We explore what it means to move with entropy instead of resisting it, opening up a profound, universal way of seeing our connection to everything.

In this conversation, Professor Alexis Shotwell unpacks the idea of purity politics, the belief that only those who meet perfect moral or ideological standards deserve to act.

We all want peace, equality, and a thriving planet, so why do we keep reproducing systems that create the opposite?
In this episode, political economist Maja Göpel explores the logic of extraction that still underpins our institutions, one that prizes short-term gain and incrementalism over meaningful transformation.
